Morning all.

Just skimmed through whilst waiting for baby to arrive.

EllieM - I would have LOVED to come and meet up with you but unfortunately, I only have permission from tiny baby's mum to take her out in the car if it's to and from group, that's it! I'm working on it but it's sort of been ok due to the hours I have her atm. Such a shame as would have been great to meet you! Maybe we could arrange something for another day when I don't have that baby (I don't have her on a Wed & Thurs). Looks like it's off to group for me this morning instead.

Catch up later everyone and Katy, I'll post on that other thread but yes, agree about EYFS changing everything.

Morning all!

just one mindee today as other one off ill. DD at preschool so it's been a quiet morning. Had a parent come and do contracts this morning so it's good that is all done. Talking of which, if you ever looked after children, in their own home, overnight, how much do you think you could realistically charge? It might happen so I have said I will let them know as never thought about it before! Could be a good money earner on one off occasions! Still to talk to dh about it tho!! So, any ideas welcomed as said I would contact tonight to let them know!

mumlove · 28/04/2008 12:30

Lunchtime already and both mindees are fed and watered and now asleep, they are always so tired on Mondays.
We have been to cm group this morning and had lots of fun so I am going to make coffee and toast.

dmo - Glad you got some much needed rest. My DD and DH would have come and woke me up after a while wanting me for this and that.

crace · 28/04/2008 13:38

I don't SB - you aren't looking after them as a c/m then - more of a babysitter/nanny even. Not sure the logistics of that one!

LT does overnights in her home but can't remember what she charges. £70 rings a bell? But that seems low

BoysAreLikeDogs · 28/04/2008 13:42

Mindees asleep, we've been out in the woods getting wet and muddy. It's so warm when the sun shines, and the rain steams off the grass.

SB - it would not be CM, so you would not show them on your register when you were overnighting or babysitting in their home. No idea of rates, £70 seems reasonable.

Have a good day all

southernbelle77 · 28/04/2008 14:01

Yeah, I know it wouldn't be as a cm. Told her I couldn't do it here as not registered (and wouldn't want dh and dd to have to worry about it as the kids are older) for overnight care but more as a favour to her when she is stuck.
Someone suggested that it should be double pay but that would be quite a lot as it's for 2 children so I was thinking maybe £10 an hour. I would charge less in my own home but as I have to go there do you think that is reasonable?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 28/04/2008 14:06

£10 an hour seems fine to me, hope that helps.

southernbelle77 · 28/04/2008 19:43

Thanks Boys! Have asked her to give me a ball figure of what she might pay and take it from there!!

DD and mindees all had fun on the big trampoline today! And kept them amused and 'quiet' for a while!

So anyway! Got tomorrow off as mindee still ill. Got the morning to myself while dd is at preschool (shame it's not next week as I have the midwife and would rather go on my own!) and then we are going to a friends for lunch which is nice.

crace · 28/04/2008 19:48

SB - I know what you mean - throughout my entire pg I have one or two mindees with me for every appt/blood taken/scan even! My next one is Thursday and mindee is with me, again. Then nothing else until I actually have the section, which will be the only pg related event without a mindee. lol

Feel like they should be there!
