I got outstanding almost three years ago, I doubt that I will get it at my next inspection as they expect far far too much

shoshe · 24/04/2008 12:22

mindermummy, your guess is as good as mine.

I put a bit here

OFSTEDoutstanding · 24/04/2008 13:55

Hi mindermummy I got one and really couldn't tell you how! I don't have livestock only a dog so really not sure where that came from with your inspector. I do have a ridiculously large amount of policies, risk assessments, paperwork etc and we go out every day which seemed to really impress her. It was my first inspection and I nearly fell over when she said what grade I had been given, I doubt very much that I will evr get it again especially with all the new EYFS coming in and to be honest it hasn't really made any difference to my business I still have a space that I can't fill and most of my parents that I had at the time were like 'Outstanding so is that a good grade to be given from OFSTED then!'

tigersmum · 24/04/2008 16:54

I got one and worked bloody hard to get it. Its all in the paperwork and who you get on the day oh and a nice chocolate biscuit I think swung it and the fact that she spilt her coffee all over my paperwork.

alibubbles · 24/04/2008 17:08

I got 'O' too, but do NOT have reams and reams of paperwork, less than 1 A4 file full, every thing goes under 5 sections, the 5 outcomes.Minimum of policies, but all contracts and consent form up to date, policies reviewed, fire drill practised and recorded.

It was just a very relaxed lovely day in September, the children played outside, on their own, without me hovering!

I felt like sitting down and reading the paper!

Combination of fantastic children who I have had since tiny, so the dynamics worked, favourite lunch, 2.5 hours and I had a senior inspector inspecting my inspector at the same time!

alibubbles · 24/04/2008 17:09

without me was supposed to be bold!

shoshe · 24/04/2008 17:53

I had a three day accedited CM Inspection, Inspector was with me all day the first day, (6 hours)

just the morning the next day, and took away all my curriculum, obs, and progress reports.

Third day was the care inspection, and after luch a review. It was a nightmare.

MindingMum · 24/04/2008 18:04

I got an outstanding on my first inspection but I don't feel it's worth the paper it's written on.

I am not outstanding in any way, shape of form, just very good at putting on a 'show' of what they want to see.

Last week a friend of mine was due her inspection and hadn't prepared for it at all. She asked me to get her through it as she had no policies, baby gates, fireguard, relevant paperwork, contracts or even enough toys.

I threw together some paperwork for her, lent her gates, fireguard and toys, books etc and told her what to say...

She got a good with outstanding aspects !!!!

It's a total joke

mindermummy · 24/04/2008 20:14

Thanks all.

I thought it would be about paper work mainly.
I have started doing my observations inc the eyfs.

I have never done rishk assesments; but my friend said she did one; What do you do for that then??
Anyone have a rough copy of the sheet?
Or any site i can get it or see an example??

I dont have a fire drill actually written out for show. Is that needed? Again, is there any examples anywhere on line??

Waht

what are the 5 outcomes.??

I got a satisfactory on my first inspection, the inspector wasnt at all nice, I did all I was told to do but she found faults and also put my children at rick through her stupidity.. Sadly the grading lasts three years and it probably puts people off me sadly. Even thought I was a NNEB nanny for 14yrs before registering.. I just hope people realise that your grading doesnt really mean all that much after the day it was given like CRB certificates... only relative to the day theyre done..

tigersmum · 25/04/2008 07:27
