You have to fight this Katy love.

I bet your sleeping has been all over with the stress, and things feel impossible.

Did you get hold of the journo that spoke to Looney before about OFSTED?

eleanorsmum · 24/04/2008 07:42

Katy - it seem so ridiculous! i wonder why ofsted are trying to ween out childminders all together, whatever happen to home based child care which is what i signed up for! so much paperwork, structure etc. I'm sure there will be a big crisis soon if they don't start offereing support etc. deff one for the papers methinks!

my day consists of walking with double buggy with only one in this morn to toddlers at the church, meeting one mum there and then bringing them both home. dd might get a ride on the way there but she's really too big for a buggy now but she'll have to walk home not sure how she'll cope tbh! never walked to this church beofer i always drive but now i have no car i refuse to be house bound! am waiting for a price to fix my car..............................

mumlove · 24/04/2008 07:53

Morning everyone.

Katy - keep up the excellent work you do, we are all here to support you.

Raining here this morning and have to take DD to school as only reception, yr1 and 2 and in because of the strike (would have been easier to shut the whole school)!

dmo · 24/04/2008 08:51

Morning all.

Hope everyone is ok. Sorry that Ofsted are being so awful to you Katy. As dmo said, I'm sure it will change again soon. Ofsted never seem to make up their minds about anything.

I did my first school run this morning! It was actually really nice getting out for a walk this morning and both dd and mindee walked nicely, if a little slowly!!

They are now currently playing really nicely (in front of me!) with the potato heads! I am hoping they will continue to play nicely later when I have a parent coming about caring for her 8 month old. REALLY want the work!

Have made bread this morning so waiting for it to rise before putting it in the oven!

looneytune · 24/04/2008 10:24

Morning all.

Nothing to add but wanted to sent {{{hugs}}} to Katy - you must fight this, you're too good to let it all just end!!!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 24/04/2008 12:55

Hi all

Am stuck totally on my effing assignment for Cache Level 3 unit 3. Urgh

KatyMac · 24/04/2008 13:00

Which module/section?

southernbelle77 · 24/04/2008 13:43

I know this probably sounds really naive, but how do I go about finding out how and where I can do start working towards my NVQ level 3. I did the ICP course when I registered a year ago, but never got round to doing more. I know want to do it but don't know where to start!!

crace · 24/04/2008 13:47

SB here

I want to do it myself!

Boys - what can we help with?

Katy - ARGHHHHH on your behalf, it's so so unfair. Please do fight this, and let's get the journos involved!

Em - what's the story on the car?

Well, as LT said, nothing to contribute these days apart from some indulgent self absorbed moaning. I have 6.5 more working days and I am going to collapse with relief when I am done.

eleanorsmum · 24/04/2008 14:53

car news is ok - part is £35 plus about £60 labour to fit. lets just hope that is what was wrong and it causes me no more grief. only things left to fix are heating - only blows cold air, fine for summer not too sure about winter.............. and the sliding door on one side has a missing spring, so cuurently has catch being held with parcel tape door works fine and locks ok, just can't justify £220 for new mechanism!

little mindee just left ealry to have his mmr, bless. was very tired on leaving, usual nap time! other one has been pottering round, lost without her playmate. spent alot of time playing with train set though! dd due home from pre-school soon (really daft but i miss picking her up!) should have car back tom.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 24/04/2008 17:19

I am wrestling with my assignment for Unit 3, see pages 6 and 7 on that link.

Aaaargh

shoshe · 24/04/2008 17:57

What are the NVQ's like girls? I did 1 - 4 yeasr ago, but having done any formal studding since my EY foundation degree, would love to know what they actually invlove now.

nannynick · 24/04/2008 18:49

I'm so glad to be home... I've hardly been around at all the last few days. I'm exhausted.

This talk about qualifications reminds me, my CACHE Diploma in Nursery Nursing will be 10 years old this year... so I need to do some update courses. Anyone got any ideas on what those courses need to be? Ideally I want my local authority to provide the courses, as they are supposed to be helping the Childcare Workforce these days.
In 2005, I did:
Manual Handling Awareness
Child Protection Awareness

southernbelle77 · 24/04/2008 19:21

I've just found the training and development manual cd that the local authority sent me! I will give them a call tomorrow to see if I can do my NVQ and get it funded! It says I should be able to at least get part funding so well worth it!
