Apparently OFSTED have decided that if more than 3 of us work together we are a nursery

Previously we were told that 3 childminders/assistants working together at a time

I am completely devastated

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Excellent news

ayla99 · 02/06/2008 18:08

Make sure you get that in writing

Great news. Is this because of your particular set up or are they changing the rules again?

KatyMac · 02/06/2008 18:22

That's great

nannynick · 02/06/2008 18:27

It's great news. Glad Ofsted saw sense eventually - 3 childminders at the same time is permitted, 4 at the same isn't. Sounds to me as that is what the Children Act 2006 meant.

KatyMac · 02/06/2008 18:41

Yep

It sucks for children with SN and a reuirement for 121 tho'

Does a SN child's 1:1 carer get included in the number of people working on the premises? I guess it does - they are working after all. So yep, agree it sucks - surely an exemption could be added for that situation, or maybe the powers at be want children with SN in special nurseries/schools.

great news KM

I'm really relieved as I was really worried we would be closed

My staff are SO relieved as well - they still have jobs - the date for redundancy notice was Friday this week [gulp]
