two probs..first one, kind of trivial..i have an almost 7 yr old mindee who is very sly...last week when here, she talked my dd into linking up their computer games and 'persuaded' dd to give her some of her things off it..just to lend and would put them abck on hers this week...i didnt know about this until she left and asked dd were they were..so mindee comes this monring..i here dd asking her for them back..mindee say "why..you gave them to me"..so i say "mindee you took thiose things and new dd didnt know what you were doing so id like you to put them back now and do NOT take anything from hers again"...look on mindees game, their not there...she (virtually) sold them so she could buy x y and z...so these things dd had had to save up for on her game were taken and sold by mindee!..ive told her that was very wrong and she shouldnt have sold(virtually) what wasnt hers, ve told her to put the computer away and told her she cannot play with it at my house any more...................
I want to mention it to parent as this is the tip of the iceberg with the sneakiness..but WHAT to i say without sounding pathetic as this instance its a computer game???????????????????????

Second prob...baby mindee just turned up yesterday i noticed a little mark on her eye lid(bottom)..but thought nothing of it..then other baby mindeee's dad rang to say HIS dd wouldnt be coming todaya s she has conjunctivitus..now this baby mindee has a big yellow spot on her bottom eye lid which looks quite sore and is very prominent..could it be/is it conjunctivitus?..ive only ever experienced the 'sleep in eyes' kind so am at a loss here...if anyone could help quickly i would really appreciate it.thanks

Suggest to the parent that they go to gp to get the eye checked out? You could also do a note to all parents to say there has been a case of conjunctivitis (assuming its not allergic conjunctivitis, usually isn't with the little ones).

With the "sly behaviour" if you don't do a diary system that you can use to note all these things then do mention to parent when they collect their child what problems there have been that day. You don't need to say every little thing that was said/done just those that caused you most concern. And be sure to mention any kind/positive behaviour (if there was any!) so you don't sound too much of a moaning minnie. If you don't mention things when they happen then you can end up having to call parents in and have a whole bunch of negative things to say - much better to say it bit by bit and let the picture build up naturally.

By mentioning things as they happen, hopefully the parents will share any problems they are having too and you can hopefully deal with things together consistently. Sometimes the parents are already aware of issues we notice but haven't thought it necessary to discuss, but sometimes they don't accept or admit to the problem which does make it difficult to deal with.

Also if you ever get a problem that escalates to the point you have to give notice, if you've kept parents informed all the way it won't be a complete shock to them.

Thanks both of you, mindees eye has not got any worse nor is it bothering her and is still just a spot???

the other little mindee who has CJ was told by doc to keep her awaya s it IS highly infectious!? but will be ok after today as her drops will be working.

The prob with sly mindee..i Do do a diary for my full timers?full day children ut as this mindee only comes - usually- before and after school we knocked it on the head for her and other after schoolys as there just wasnt enough time to write what had happend before they got collected, so will have to speak to ehr dad tonight..shes been correcting EVRYTHIN i and other mindees ahve said today!!??..earlier i said come on then lets go to to play area..and she said no, "let go 'into' the play area" and when dd was playing on the ropes she shouted xxx, DO NOT BOUNCE ON THOSE ROPES IT IS DANGEROUS!!!!..so i pulled her to one side and said i felt she was being very bossy today to everyone and it is not up to her to tell anyone what to do..so she has sulked most of afternoon...until i bought them all icecreams
