I can't be bothered to look on the net to find phone number of jobcentreplus to go through loads of questions to ask this one thing so hoping you can help....

What do you put on the questions:

What date did you start your maternity leave?
What date do you want your Maternity Allowance to be paid from?

I haven't started maternity leave yet (obviously!) so confused about what to put??? Do I just put the date I plan to?

Basically, my last day is arranged to be 6th June, therefore my first day of actual Maternity Leave will be 9th June. I want my payments to include from that time.

There isn't a section for when I plan to return so not sure how to make sure I don't get paid once I'm back working? Shall I just put the dates in the 'other info' section?

Put the date you plan to - apparently the send out a form to "confirm" later. I STILL haven't had confirmation that mine is even going through so you'll want to get that in soon LT x

Cheers hun. Now just need to decide what to do about the ID they are asking to be sent. They want originals but have sent me a freepost envelope - no way am i sending my passport or whatever via unrecorded delivery. What did you send?

Oh have I phoned and chased - I submitted mine 7 weeks ago. I finally got someone yesterday to tell me what the hell is going on - and I should get an answer via post the next few days.

ID? I didn't send any? I sent the MATB1 only and they've not asked for any more than that. Weird!

They are SOOOO annoying aren't they!!! Dh lost his job once and had to claim (which he hated) and I had to go in with full details of my earnings as we're married. They lost the lot and it meant we had no money from them for MONTHS. We phoned and phoned and try to get things sorted and everyone said something different and......well....rant, rant, rant! Lets just say I don't have much time for them! Hope you get yours sorted soon!

It's just a standard photocopied form they've bunged in about how to prove identity and says all claims need ID. Maybe I'll call them as not happy about sending this stuff after they lost stuff last time!
