or is that a bit controlling?

We have spent time with her and chatted lots but she didn't write anything down.

Would it be seen as useful or plain bossy?

Was going to say things like....ds usually has two / three naps a day. He likes eating most things...

I think that's fine. I'm a cm and I wouldn't mind the parents doing that for my mindees when they started!

moreJellothanJlo · 14/04/2008 08:53

that would be really helpful, do it!

KatyMac · 14/04/2008 09:02

I ask my new mums to do me 'A day in the life of Mindee' - it is lots of help

FloridaKbear · 14/04/2008 09:11

do bear in mind that the routine is bound to change when your DS starts with the childminder - he may not nap when he usually does or eat when he usually eats due to all the changes and getting used to the new person etc.

ayla99 · 14/04/2008 09:29

I would find that very useful. Although the routine can't be exactly the same as it was at home, I like to keep it as close as I can and its useful to have a starting point to work from.

I tend to write it all down when parents come though, I've a terrible memory! And I ask parents to feel free to add any extra info when they fill out the child records & permission forms.

MaureenMLove · 14/04/2008 09:55

I had a form ready for parents to do just that. Also listing particular toys or games they liked and things they particularly didn't like. I think most CM's would be extremely grateful and it all helps to settle your lo into a new environment.

brilliant - thanks all. I want to help my CM but didn't want to look too bossy.
