After school club

I have applied for an after school club position but I don't have help from other people apart from the kids dads here and there each week. But they both go to the school I applied too. Would they be able to join the after school club too if I was to get a job? (Paid obviously)

It wouldn't be every day but would part of the after school club so I can work! Or would i have to get a childminder separately?

I imagine this would be at the discretion of the Head and would depend on the insurance issue having non pupils there or whether they are taking a place from a pupil at the school. If not, you could be fine.

good luck getting the job 🤞🏻

Fingers crossed as they both go to the school already! And it wouldn't be all the time so fingers crossed they can! Would be so helpful!

Oh that should be ok then. Why wouldn’t it be? You would just be registering them for ASC just like all the other parents. Or are you worried they may not be allowed if a parent works there?

I used to be the parent chairperson of the DC's ASC. Staff children were welcome, but only if we had space for them. Both in terms of physical space and ratios. I'm pretty sure they played normal rates, but were prioritised. Our ASC was run independently of the school.

When you get the interview, raise it as a question.

Look at what you would be paid. If you at for two childcare places, does that cost less than you would earn? Do they have space to take your children?
