I am debating about a job that has come up, but it would be full time hours, i think i would prefer my ds (20 mths) to be with a childminder but can anyone give me a rough idea on cost? hours prob be 8am to 6pm 5 days per week, also i have a dd who starts school in Spet, are some childminders willing to do school drop offs/pick ups?

Thanks so much.

My c/minder is £3 per hour for child 1 and then £2.50 per hour per sibling.

My c/minder does drop off ds to playgroup & pick him up 3 days a week & picks up dd at school 4 days a week.

I am able to drop dd off at school before going to work/uni.

So if you get a minder @ £3 per hour for ds: £30 per day.

I'm not sure about dd, if she would charge for when she is at school, mine doesn't but I know some who do.

The Childcarelink Website here will give you a clearer picture for your area, just put your postcode in As for school runs, most childminders do this as standard. You won't be charged (or at least shouldn't be) when dd is at school as long as it's full time school. If it's nursery/pre-school then they will probably charge for the couple of hours she's there because it's hard to fill those couple of hours.

Rates will vary depending on your location, and even within local areas.
Looking at your profile, you appear to be in the PR25 area... so you could contact Playful Penguins Childminding Network on 01772 624389 (Wade Hall Children's Centre), who should be able to advise you on local rates plus which childminder's have vacancies, and which schools they will collect from.
