Have sent timetable Kay, hope it's what you were looking for.

A question for everyone......Have to do an exploring/sciene activity with a 13 month and 17 month old and thought of treasure basket.......do you think the 17 month old would get anything out of this or is it for younger babies really? Or does it depend on what I put in it?

southernbelle77 · 08/04/2008 08:58

Morning.

MaureenMLove · 08/04/2008 09:08

Hello. Sorry, I will leave you all to it, soon, but without a job to got to, I'm a bit lost.

I've got a kitchen make idea for you though, if that helps. This recipe shows you how to make honeycombe/puff candy. Now, you could make the whole thing when they've all gone home, like me and DH did whilst DD was out last night! Or you could just make the puff candy bit. There's a chemical reaction in there, with the bicarb which is bloody good fun and educational! I'll get the explanation for you from my other thread last night.

MaureenMLove · 08/04/2008 09:10

Here You need to ignore the barney between me and Kbear and go the Stealthsquggles post!

ROSEgarden · 08/04/2008 09:11

Hi Kay, Katy sent it to me last night but i cant open it?, it may still forward to you though? so let me know if you need it?

London..no experience of treasure baskets but id think most children WOULD find them interesting even much older than 17 mo.

Morning belle

well i have one unexpected mindee all day today from 7.30, but shes just over a year older than dd and they used to be in same class, so are very friendly and are sortng them selves out...every time i go into play room thy glare at me until i slowley back away!!!
got new sofa's coming sometime this morn, as is the loss ajuster dealing with my flooded kitchen..just hope hes nice and generous fair

ROSEgarden · 08/04/2008 09:14

oops Hi chick, didnt see you there..that recipe sounds fab but kitchen out of bounds today as loss ajsuter due between 9 and 1pm..so not long then !!!

looneytune · 08/04/2008 09:34

Morning all. Having a lazy morning as no mindees until 12, then it's just tiny baby from then until 5.30. I've got a cold again and still tired from the weekend, even though went to bed at 9pm last night. Anyway, making the most of the chilling

Best go and get washed and sort ds out as we need to be at the midwife in an hour.

Have a good day everyone

KatyMac · 08/04/2008 10:33

I think you are talking about different timetabing thingies - Is Kay Asking about the OFSTED one?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 08/04/2008 10:43

Morning all

Thanks for recipe Mo

London, have a look in the Archives for treasure baskets, franny is the poster to look for, I am sure a 17 month old would love it as well as a baby

Have a look at my thread if you get a minute

MaureenMLove · 08/04/2008 12:58

I'm having a hell of a morning! I've been in the loft again, clearing out, ready for boarding and been to the tip twice. If Ihad a bigger car, I'd only have been once!

Anyway, FH had to go out, so Iw as banned from the loft until he gets back, so I was going through a box of keepsakes! Found loads of bloody gorgeous piccie of baby dd and I found all my exam certificates. I've got O level biology! Never knew that! And I've done loads of family centred studies exams. I've got 4 grade ones! Oh and I've got a distinction in typing, I'll have you know! Exam taken on a manual typewriter too, I'm that old!

I've got some new craft idea for you for Mothers and Fathers day too! I'll get back to you on that one!

MaureenMLove · 08/04/2008 12:59

Whoops! Typing seems to have gone down the drain in those 25 years.....

BoysAreLikeDogs · 08/04/2008 13:01

Mo what are you like, eh?

Lol

MaureenMLove · 08/04/2008 13:11

I've been tough with myself. I've thrown away DD's birthday cards, from when she was one! Well actually, since she was one! That's 12 years worth of cards! Why did I keep them? I've found newspapers from the day she was born and the day we got married - I'll keep them, they are quite fun reading!

Managed to catch up with the rag and bone man too, so finally the washing machine that's been in the garden since November, has gone!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 08/04/2008 13:14

no mindees today due to ds's sickness bug

hope i'll be able to work tomorrow as i've lost 19hrs work this week and as it's the hol's here it was nearly double the normal money . . . . hey ho.

the annoying thing is ds was been fine the whole working day yesterday and was ill during out of work hours time and last night after he was sick 4 times he fell asleep and was put to bed before 7pm and slept through till 6am - and has been fine so far {touchwood} he's absolutely fine in himself and annoyed there are no kids to play with.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 08/04/2008 13:34

ahem

VV sorry to hear you are having a bad time

Mo it's wierd to look back at old newspapers, see what was going on then

ROSEgarden · 08/04/2008 13:52

right, how do i resolve this one?..
i have a mindees who's 6 1/2.EVERY time she uses the loo(for number ones or twos) she uses our wipes ..then put them..........IN THE PEDAL BIN!
i used to think it was my younger mindee, but shes here with dd today and everytime shes been to the loo ive reminded her before she goes to PUT THE WIPES OR LOO ROLL IN THE TOILET and when she comes down ive said "did you put the wipes in the toilet" and every time shes replied YES...twice today ive had to check and found 'dirty' wipes in the bin(i only emptied bin for bin men coming this morn, so was empty when she arrived)..its from front and back wiping but no matter how many times i remind her she ignores/forgets!...how can i stiop fishing manky wipes out of my bathromo bin(other than take the bin out)????

BoysAreLikeDogs · 08/04/2008 13:56

You could pop up a notice with a picture showing putting the wipes in the loo to reinforce the message.

ASk her parents to work with you on this one, too.

HTH

And look at my thread !

MindingMun · 08/04/2008 14:15

Rose - make HER go up and fish them out. I bet you'll only make her do it once or twice and she'll soon remember!!

At 6 and a half that's just lazyness

MindingMun · 08/04/2008 14:21

Had my first morning with all four under 5's today - feeling really knackered already

Mindee 1 (27 months)
Mindee 2 (25 months)
Mindee 3 (11 months)
Mindee 4 (10 weeks)

Think I'd better get some early nights cos it feels like Friday and it's only Tuesday

MaureenMLove · 08/04/2008 15:31

Defo go with MM, Rose! Make her go back up there and remove them! Yuck!

And phew for you MM, you must be shattered!

ROSEgarden · 08/04/2008 15:40

wow MM thats ahrd work and then some!!

yeah the second time i asked her to come back up and asked why shed said she hadnt put them there when she actually had? i said she wasnt in trouble for doing it, but i wasnt best pleased shed lied..i asked her to go and get them out of bin, flush away then clean hands again..she did..lets see what happens next time??

southernbelle77 · 08/04/2008 15:45

Oooh Rose, thats not nice! I agree, make her get them out! She'll soon get the picture!

We went to docs this morning re dd. Apparently it's all behavioural and attention seeking. Still need the laxatives every day but have to try and ignore and she will stop soon enough. We'll see.

She also had her booster jabs today. For that she was a star. No tears, no flinching or anything! And very polite and said thank you to the nurses afterwards She got a little treat of a fairy playdoh set (wasn't expensive!) so we've just been doing that together while mindee is asleep.

We've also made piggy masks and models out of toilet rolls too

ROSEgarden · 08/04/2008 16:03

aw belle thats not fair..behaviuoral isnt the word..maybe she 'feels' she cant but thats not behavour, its just not being able to either do it or get her head round doing it..poor lamb..give her time as you are and encouragement..my friends dd was the same, shes 6 now and stopped a long time ago

crace · 08/04/2008 16:49

Hi ya'll - had day off to do "important" errands in Londontown and had a brief nap with dd. Am shattered after traipsing all over the place. Yawn.

Just saying hello -will check back later or tomorrow!

southernbelle77 · 08/04/2008 16:53

Thank you Rose I feel like it must be my fault and something I have done wrong. I don't mean that in a self pitying type way, just that maybe if I had done something differently when Potty training then it would be ok .
The other thing I'm not sure about is when she is not on laxatives, she just CAN NOT go. I don't think she is holding back then as she says she needs to go, but even after pushing she can't. I don't know. There are so many questions I can think of now that I forgot. It was a locum doctor too so I didn't know him and he knew nothing of dd.
Oh well! these things happen to try us don't they!!
