Hi so I am a single mom to a 9 month old who is due to start nursery 3 days a week from July. He is going to be 13 months old in September when the 15 hours new funding comes in for working parents
I will be working part time 3 days a week 22 hours from July and I also claim universal credit so I will be claiming help with childcare costs from them.
Does anyone know if you can claim both costs help from universal credit and the 15 hours funding also?

My nursery have just told me as I am claiming universal credits I won't be able to apply for the 15 hours funding? I have not seen anything about not being able to apply for both as a single parent
The nursery I am going to is very expensive but a good local one however I could of really done with the funding from September to help with costs being a lone parent but they said I can't. I didn't think I wouldn't be able to claim for the hours if on UC has anyone else had this issue ?

Funded hours you can but not tax free childcare. Obviously your entitlement will go down as your costs will be lower.

Yes you can use both. Claim your 15 hours and then you can claim a percentage of your remaining childcare costs with your UC.
