I'm finding it really quiet on there at the moment and the profiles on there either aren't filled out with much information and/or messages aren't replied to.

What's it like it your area? It's not just me by the way, other cms and the local preschool are finding the same. Maybe people are using other means to find childcare now?

If they send you a message then they just have paid to send /receive

So you should be able to reply to their message

@Blondeshavemorefun

Thanks. I'll have to check it out. Thinking back it might have been a msg from CC saying she had tried to message me but couldn't as I'm not a Gold member. So I assume she's not paid to message either & CC we're just trying to push me into signing up for Gold Membership. It's so expensive though.

I'm totally in denial about moving on ... I'll consider the Gold Membership Monthly when I get serious about looking. Even then, not sure it's worth it!!

I found my last nanny job on there but agree that it is pretty quiet now and some days I don't even bother looking.
I tend to use bubble now as prefer working for various families on a range of different jobs. With that said, their 25% take off fee for every new family you work for is a big down point.

Had a very bad experience on there, woman walked out leaving my 2 year old in the house alone to have an argument that turned into a physical fight with her boyfriend on the street outside my house.
Got home to find a neighbour I only vaguely knew looking after my child.

I left an honest review about my experience and the review was deleted when she complained (I know she did, she sent me a foul email telling me she was getting it removed).

My review was factual and polite.

Wouldn't use that site ever again and I tell anyone looking for recommendations that they can't trust anyone on there because the reviews are fake.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/05/2024 13:09

@AutumnNanny yes they send emails saying they did

I'm not sure if a con or not

Will send you a message

@Blondeshavemorefun

thank you!!

I don't know if it's a con con or if it's 'just' a Pressure to pay for membership. Either way it's rather rubbish!!

That's strange they never remove childminders reviews there are some where people have complained about childminders they have never used like I asked for 2 hours care a week and the cm said no.

SuuzeeeQ · 05/05/2024 17:49

I use it, I found my childminder on there. But struggled to find a babysitter recently, I found one on Facebook in the end.

AmusedMaker · 05/05/2024 17:57

My daughter used it and found a wonderful childminder on there. She gave a genuine excellent review when her ds left her to go to school. So not all reviews are fake.

Inlimboin50s · 05/05/2024 18:29

I've had some after school nanny jobs from there in the last two years but came across Care.com and my housekeeping/nanny job is from there.

BusyCM · 05/05/2024 18:32

Aww I have some lovely reviews on my profile too and they definitely aren't fake.

I've got brilliant reviews but I do know some who have been given fake ones as I said above....some people are just nasty. I think if you can prove it's a fake review it should be removed. ...but that's the same on all sites like holiday ones

AmusedMaker · 05/05/2024 19:58

Oh yes i agree jannier I’m sure all companies have the occasional fake review.

Nanny31 · 08/05/2024 08:43

I have found all my jobs through the site. I guess it's down to location location.
(I'm in the north) I don't find it quiet.
On the review front, I don't have any, yet I've worked with 3 wonderful long term families. You will find genuine people on there. Also depends on what you are looking for, vice versa
