The ONLY thing I really find hard about being in childcare...

The only thing I really don't love about my job is having to work when either I am ill, my children are ill or one of my charges are ill.... I feel so sick today I could just cry!
(charge is having afternoon nap before anyone shouts at me for posting while working)Its in my contract that I only get statutory sick pay and that I will still look after charges when my ds's are ill and when charges are ill. Saves money and hassal all round I know as temp childcare is a nightmare and usually I really don't mind. But just today I really could do with a lie down someone to look after my ds too and just a bit of time to wallow and feel sick by myself!

This is not a general rant as adore my job..just wanted to feel sorry for myself for a few minutes! (The kids have all already had this by the way so am not going to infect them by working). Don't finish until 11 tonight either!

Should add that daddy will be picking up ds's and taking them home to bed at a sensible time..they won't be here until 11pm! LOL

poor you.
I am feeling urgh today as well, but am only looking after my own. Can imagine if it's your job you feel a bit more like you have to make the effort to be chirpy and play etc.
how come you're working so late? Does your DH or anyone get back so you can have some moral support and RL sympathy?

StealthPolarBear · 02/04/2008 15:00

sorry x post, I don't understand how you're working until 11

Daisysmiles · 02/04/2008 15:02

Thanks Stealth, hope you feel better soon.

Yeah still have to do all the playing and the crafts and the school runs...not sure how I am going to cook dinner..the smell, even thinging about it makes me want to run for the bathroom, maybe cold dinner tonight! Babysitting this evening, hence 11pm finish.

right
can you cancel? sounds like you need an early night? can you recommend anyone else to them? cold dinner / takeaway, definitely!

Daisysmiles · 02/04/2008 15:09

Yeah think I might call mb and see if she could get home early this evening rather than staying to babysit. Not sure of her plans but they may not be important...

Hate letting people down

In normal jobs you are allowed to be sick you know! I understand you have people relying on you, but you are human, not a machine.
I hope...or I have just been sympathising with a computer

Daisysmiles · 02/04/2008 15:11

RIGHT..pulls self together and goes to wake up charge to head off on school run.

Thanks for letting me have my self indulgent 5 minutes.
