CM Club - Should I increase my charges?

I have just had an odd conversation with a parent........she has just asked my why I am so cheap? Now I thought that I was quite expensive around here.......but obviously not!!

The parent knows that I am having a rate increase (oh from today actually!)

Should I just leave it???

The main reason that this came up was because two new childminders have set up in the next village and they are charging over a £1 more per hour than I am

I don't want to appear greedy as I am not, I love the job most of the time but a few extra pennies would be nice

depends where you live
how much you charge
and if the other cm have managed to get any children to mind

I would just carry on with your planned increase, and remember to put it up slightly every April. I had a parent say the same to me last time I put my fees up, we all charge about the same round here tho orlose business.

DMO makes a good point, other two cms may not get any business with such a large difference in what they charge.
