Hi crace. [smil;e]

I am in a grumpy mood and could do with a nap myself! DP slept diagonally across our bed, ds came in about 4am and spent three hours fidgeting, twiddling my hair, pumping, talking, pretending to fall out of bed (mattress on floor waiting for new frame). Grr! Could do with a night in a hotel with a big bed all to myself... {hopeful emotion}.

Raining here so stuck in today, working 8.30-7. Sigh.

MaureenMLove · 01/04/2008 08:15

Morning. I've got about my last 4 nappies to change today and then I can file all nappy changing gear! Last day going out with changing bag, last day with highchair too and having to spoon feed a child! Oh god, so many lasts!

KaySamuels · 01/04/2008 08:19

mml at the last nappy changes.

Variation baby's mum rang me last night starts monday! AWOL mindee back tomorrow!

Good job it's back to school here next week will be so busy!

crace · 01/04/2008 08:36

at nappy changes too - course I have years left with my own family.

Kay, good for you - it's all go!

feeling mo that your going

mindingmum · 01/04/2008 09:17

No more nappy changes here? (more likely to see a flying pig!!!)

Entertaining myself on here while waiting for first 2 mindees to arrive - one didn't turn up at 8am and didn't call either (pain in the arse cos baby sibling was supposed to come if mindee not fully recovered from chickenpox) and 8:30 mindee (who usually comes at 10) didn't turn up either dispite his mum asking me last week if he could come at 8:30!! So...
Presuming first one is poorly and second one is coming at 10 with 3rd - very complicated

Agree Kay, is defo time for back to school

MaureenMLove · 01/04/2008 09:18

Well, it seems, after today, I've only got after school kids. Which means that I can file the pram and the big car seat today too! My neighbour has just told me she doesn't need me this Friday, she's taking a day off! All toys filed by the end of the day then. Just leave the lego out. Wow! How exciting for me.

Should I be buying a goodbye pressie for my baby? Going to the library in an hour, so I can nip into the shops then. I've got a Wilkos & Woolies near by. What do you think?

hennipenni · 01/04/2008 09:36

Mo, I'm just a teeenie bit that your going out into the big wide world. Good luck and enjoy.

Have got a prospective set of parents coming this afternoon for a 6 month old - I love babies , really hoping they choose me as I need the work at the moment as I have a couple of uncertainties that could give notice at any moment.

Mindee that I have today made me cry this morning, it is the one that I had problems with over easter holidays. Mindee was repeating horrible words that had heard at home, words that no child of this age should be hearing. It is really breaking my heart as problems are obviously affecting this child , at least I am able to give the mindee some consitency whilst with me. But how do I approach the parents? I really have to as this isn't the first time and I'm worried that my other 3 yr old will repeat to her parents.

mindingmum · 01/04/2008 09:37

Oh yes Maureen, that would be a lovely gesture

MaureenMLove · 01/04/2008 09:42

Henni, I think I'd take advice on this from my co-ordinator. You can explain fully to her the extent of it and use the words that mindee is saying.

mindingmum · 01/04/2008 09:44

DO you have a policy on 'bad' language that you could give them to read?

I have one that says 'swearing or discriminatory language will not be tolerated from any adult or child in my setting'

Explain that you are not judging them as parents just covering yourself incase others pick up on it.

Good luck with potential new starter

hennipenni · 01/04/2008 10:02

Mo, thanks will speak to her.

MM, I do but I don't think that it would make any difference to the parents (have spoken about it before - was told the child had picked it up from nursery), mindee was telling me these words in context of what they over heard at home, I haven't heard it used in every day play but I need to nip it in the bud.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 01/04/2008 10:11

Hi all

Waiting for mindee, just the one this week, very quiet, I like it full on madness

Crace - how are you feeling ?

Kay - a long day with little sleep last night = grumpy Kay tonight

Mo - your life is changing so fast !

dmo - long time no see...how you doin'?

mm - it can get complicated no? lol

henni - agree call your co-ordinator, in the meantime you could think about the broken record technique ('in henni's house we don't use thse words' ad infinitum) Good luck

ROSEgarden · 01/04/2008 10:13

Henni tell them youve had a complaint from antoher aprent as their child has gone home and said it!..white lie but may be effective, you could say that you have to log the complaint and show what action you have taken to rpevent it happening again?..Hi all BTW
