Tax free childcare?

Hi all, I do apologise if this seems stupid I’m so new to this.

my son turned 3 and I work part time but I’m able to get the 30 hours which I applied for and for the tax free childcare through with it. Spaces were limited though it was a case of bad timing for me!

He’s never gone to nursery so I’m very new to this, With his nursery I’m doing combined fees stretched for 2 mornings to start off, and as the elder children leave to start going to school and my work hours are naturally increasing, I’m hoping to increase the hours in a way that goes smoothly! 🫣

But for now can you use tax free childcare with this?
as some of its already funded - I’m not too sure because it’s still £222 a month for 2 mornings.

thank you in advance I know a lot of you are pros at this by now!

Yes you can use tax free childcare on top of funded hours.

Sorry I don’t really understand your question. Are you getting 30 funded hours or not? What’s the point about limited spaces and bad timing for you? Is it that you are eligible for 30 funded hours but the nursery don’t have space to take him for all those hours? £222pm extra on top of funded hours seems a lot.

As another poster says you can use both at the same time so if that’s what you were asking then great!

they didn’t have the space for the full funded hours so I’m doing combined fees stretched.

I was saying that it happened at the wrong time so I have a smaller amount of hours to start with,
was just asking if I can use tax free childcare on top of hours that are funded I probably didn’t word it right it’s been a long week! 🥴

its £222 all together - hope that clears it up!

That doesn't make sense....if you get 30 hours stretched over a year is around 22 hours a week but you can't use more than 10 a day ....they can't claim more than they are offering but you can use two settings to get full funding....or use a setting that can offer if all.
Yes you can use tax free to pay the fees you need to find.

Is it that the nursery will only take a certain number of children on funded hours?
