I will however buy her gorgeous dd a HUGE fabbo birthday pressie tomorrow!

MaureenMLove · 28/03/2008 13:45

Question: When is it acceptable to say 'sod that! I'm not doing the school run in this weather and phone the school to let mindees walk home on their own!'

I'll stand at the front door with towels, fresh clothes and hot choccie!

southernbelle77 · 28/03/2008 14:24

good eh!
Clearly I didn't need the money for dh's birthday on Sunday and the meal I'm taking him for or his present, or the present and petrol I need for dd's friends birthday on Saturday.
It's fine, I'm racking it in, me!
Sarcasm?? Me??!

SB! What did the parents say?!

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 28/03/2008 14:35

So, what's happening then? Have you told them you need cash payment today?

crace · 28/03/2008 16:16

SB!!! Update if you please!

Afternoon going scads better than am did. DD and mindee both slept for 1.5 hrs giving me a much needed break with my feet up. Got in an episode of Ashes to Ashes even! Feel a lot more refreshed for it.

OP posts:
southernbelle77 · 28/03/2008 16:29

I just said I needed cash on Monday (would have said today but I was not in the mood for seeing them today!!).

Very short answer saying, yes of course.

I wouldn't even have minded so much if I had been told that it was going to happen as I would have been prepared for it but it just annoyed me that no thought had gone into me and if I needed the money. What if i had had bills to pay today or something.

anyway, feeling a bit better now as dd and I have made a cake for dh - just need to find somewhere to hide it now

crace · 28/03/2008 16:35

Hell yes SB! And don't take them again until they do.. that is SO not on. And unfair - seems like they paid you knowing it wouldn't clear - naughty

OP posts:
ROSEgarden · 28/03/2008 17:06

aw Belle, he shares the same birthday as meid have made them bring cash tonight!

Crace glad you got some rest today

crace · 28/03/2008 18:13

Mindee gone, and free for weekend! Dh working late (yawn, what else is new) so having simple fair for dinner and taking the kids out puddle jumping.

No idea what's on for the weekend - there is a lambing weekend about 20 mins from us that dd would be over the moon to see and maybe swimming.

Dh was actually home over the 4 day weekend and took Mon, Tues and Wed off to do our kitchen (flat one) roof. He did a great job but we were house bound.

What's everyone else up to?

I need to go and buy some new navy combats and a pair of trainers. Current Guiding ones are a bit tatty! I'm making a big Rainbow for a enrolement ceremony on Monday night and I'm also on Lane control at the Guides swimming gala tomorrow night. Need to do some letters for Guiding too, at some point, so working for nothing all weekend then!

dmo · 28/03/2008 22:36

OOO you girls know how to live
puddle jumping and rainbow making
remind me where did our lives go????????????
inore me i'm just peed off with kids (my own)

Mum2Luke · 28/03/2008 23:37

Just got back from Mum's caravan in Anglesey, spent most of yesterday at bangor Hosp waiting to see eye doc. Appt was 4pm, got to see her at 7pm! Good job my 3 are at the age where they can amuse themselves back at caravan - they took Mum's dog for walk, flew kite and did some crabbing!

Have now been diagnosed with an ulcer on my cornea (ouch!) and had yet another wait at manchester Royal Eye Hosp to get some more eye drops. Have to go back Monday evening, doc was wanting me back Monday am but have 5 mindees (4 and my ds) and I refused to even agree to going in! Not what I wanted to do on my last free day.

Got busy weekend too - my ds 6th birthday party, (his real bday is Sunday)11 kids running riot in local playcentre, better than my house though.

Oh well, off to bed am knackered!

Helen and Luke
xx

Why do parents say their kids are coming and not turn up on the day/ring to say they're not coming cos their little darling is sick? I booked for 10 kids + my lad and 6 turn up.

Party was good but we had to pay for absent kids which is unfair, will be having words with parents at school in a week!

Hissing it down here (whats new?) in sunny manchester, what you all been up to? I remember being in the Guides, I loved it but we never did any camping, did lots of that in Brownies in a prefab so it wasn't proper camping. My daughter was in Brownies for a while but it wasn't very well organised as a group. She lost interest and started horse-riding instead. Hope the gala goes well, I remember winning one race when I was 9!
