Long shot - but I'm desperate. My CM has given me 2 weeks notice.

All CMs that I know of in village have said no as I need someone who can start at 7:00am when I have an early shift.

Have you tried Childcare Link Website? If not, try phoning 0800 195 1635 which is for your area, in my area the Early Years team will do whatever they can to help and will contact minders. Plus, not all childminders are listed on the website.

2 weeks notice isn't long, presume it was only that in the contract?

Good luck, hope you find someone.

No, it was 4 weeks in the contract. Technically she's given 4 weeks notice, but is going on holiday for 2 weeks on 6th April. Only told me about the holiday yesterday

So actually its a week and a half notice.

I've tried all the CMs in the village, tried the website and the phone number. No luck, noone will start that early.

Thanks though.

If you have NCMA contracts then she's breaking the contract as it states 'notice of termination of the contract must be given in writing and should not include a period of holiday or paid time off'. Also, isn't she supposed to give you at least 4 weeks written notice of holiday? My contracts state that and most people do give that amount of notice!

Sorry you've already tried what I mentioned and it's no good, what a nightmare for you! Could you look for a temporary nanny or something?

She's having a major family crisis so although she maybe is breaking her contract I can't hold it against her at all - I feel really bad for her now I've heard why.

But the good news is my mum and dad have said they'll help out

Thanks
