NANNY TAX payroll company

Which is the best Nanny payroll company for nanny shares.

I've found:
www.taxnanny.co.uk £109 pa
www.nannypaye.co.uk £165 pa
www.payefornannies.co.uk £135 pa
www.nannypayroll.co.uk £150 pa
www.nannytax.co.uk £260 pa

Is there any reason why not to go for the cheapest?

We use nannypaye -- though not for a share. I have no complaints.

I used nannytax for years and they were fine.

I think they might have been the first company offering this service which is possibly why they're the most expensive.

Have you compared what they all offer? £260 vs £109 is a big difference!

I wanted to hand everything over to them so that I didn't have to think about any of it, fill in any forms, have any responsiblity for it!

I did use them when I had a share, but as each half of the share was separately responsible for paying the nanny I'm not sure what kind of service they would offer if you're combining payments, IYSWIM.

Beware the sharing of the tax-free element of your nanny's salary if you're sharing with another family. Can't remember how we resolved it, but I do remember NannyTax sorting it all out.

We used nannypaye for a nanny share, but at the time I only knew about nannytax, nannypaye and one other (can't remember name but seemed a bit dodgy at the time).
Nannypaye were very helpful when I first rang and asked about nanny-share tax, even when I hadn't signed up with them.

I've used PAYEfornannies and they have been fine. I would go for the cheapest first and if you have any problems, move up the scale!
Its not a hard job so I would have thought there's not much value added in going for a more expensive option.

We used nannytax for a nannyshare. The split the tax-free element as we asked them to do.

I've also used their employment service - the subscription includes some telephone advice with a solicitor. While I am a solicitor myself I do not know employment law. I was happy with the advice they gave and found it useful. This is a useful value-add for me.

I signed up to taxnanny a few months ago - so far so good. They are always very quick to reply to emails and helped our nanny with splitting her tax code (she has another job).

I use nannypaye for a nannyshare and am really pleased, they did some kind of splitting the taxes between us and the other family and they also managed to 'find' us some extra unused tax allowance as the nanny had 2 months without work before starting with us and they gave us that too which for us was a real bonus as it was something we would never have known about otherwise. I was recommended to use them by a colleague at work who is now on her 3rd nanny tax company as the first two she was not happy with (one didnt post a payslip they only sent it by email so it looked rubbish when printed out and the nanny was not very hapy having that as her mortgage adviser would not accept it - i think that was called taxnanny? the other one was just not as helpful with the advice on the phone and she said they seemed a bit like cowboys - that was nannywage. But i certainly cant complain. One other bonus which i dont know if it is the same elsewhere but when they send me a statement of what to pay to HM Customs they give a breakdown but also they send a receipt when they recieve it and when i forgot to pay it they sent me a reminder too - thats just what i need as im a bit of a scatter brain and it feels like i have no worries at all, just sign and post the cheques when told!

cant beleive the difference between cheapest £109 and dearest £260 = £151!!!!

My employers have always used nannytax but i might suggest changing to taxnanny and save my lovely mb £151!!

SophieKilm · 10/11/2015 15:34

I would personally be wary of where they are cutting corners when its matters relating to tax. My employer uses little ones payroll. They found me a job as well. I've found them really responsive and helpful when I call about payslips.

MumOfTwoooo · 09/01/2018 15:35

I agree with the pp cheaper options may be cutting corners and the slightly more expensive ones could offer you more flexibility in payslips etc. I am using the Little Ones payroll service as well (hired our nanny through them and it is complimentary) and they're fantastic and always so helpful whenever i call with questions.
