Hump Day (Wednesday) Staff Room!!!!

MaureenMLove · 19/03/2008 08:28

Actually, its not is it? Its over the hump day, since Friday is a Bank Holiday.

Right, I think I may have PMT today. I am getting really fed up with seeing people on here having problems with bad CM's. No one is slagging anyone off, its not a fight or anything. I'm just really sad to find myself explaining we're not all like that. Its rotten.

Anyway, move on! No kids today! I'm going to eat HCBs all day, I think!

Morning

Struggling with DD atm - so feeling a bit under par

Plus one of my helpers is leaving

HCBs?

LoveMyGirls · 19/03/2008 08:33

I know what you mean MML it is really sad, I can't believe there are so many crap ones out there giving us all a bad name

Maybe we should start a thread asking for all those with lovely cm's to come and tell us why their cm is the best to even it out?

MaureenMLove · 19/03/2008 09:12

Hot Cross Buns Katy! I think it was Crace who adopted that one, last week!

There are also some nice threads on CM's, no need to suggest a 'lets big us up' thread. Thing is, I'm loved and I love my families, I just feel for all those people who have shit minders!

HCBs Mo! Hysterical - yes it was me, but I am uber lazy

Got my full timers today and the usual ole slog - made our chocolate nests already this am. Are they supposed to be soft still, or do they harden? I have put them in the fridge to help them along too.

Trying to find something else to make today, easter bonnets I think.

Katy, sorry you are losing a helper

I find those threads sad too. Particularly as my mindees are going elsewhere for my cover and I can't help but feel compared to and replaced! Hormones for you but I am very sensitive about it. I know I do a good job but I am afraid they will like them better

looneytune · 19/03/2008 10:06

Morning all

Both mindees are napping and I have ds sat next to me watching a DVD. Couldn't take him to school this morning as could hardly move (something going on with my waterworks I think!!). Going to take him once mindees wake up as can move about now, thank god!

Mo - makes me feel sad too about these bad childminders. Seem to be a lot more of these threads recently, I just can't understand why these people become childminders???

Katy - sorry you're still having probs with DD

LMGs - morning

crace - I know how you feel and hormones must play a part . I was feeling that way but it turns out one mum is taking the 12 weeks off as won't use anyone else (who I used to call DP baby), another has the mum and/or dad taking time off, not sure about the other 2 but I think one is using her mum for those weeks. The other has asked for recommendations but said still keen to come back as this is why went on about Ofsted approving the 2 under 1's from Sept. So we'll see. Always worry though!

crace · 19/03/2008 10:25

I can't help but think that some of those aren't legal childminders - surely if you went through all what we have to you wouldn't behave that way or even BE a childminder. I reckon they are unregistered.

ROSEgarden · 19/03/2008 10:55

Morning all, justa quicky..mindee here today, mum and dad an't together and mindee doesnt see his dad, but has started 'showing' up recently, took him out at weekend unauthorised by mum and has said he wants to collect him from school..now this dad comes and goes, wont see mindeee for moths and mum is 'loggng' all contact so something is going on, but am worried now, a- will he try and pick up instead of me from school, b-what if he turns up at school and trys to take mindee with him c-what if he try to take him when hes with me d-will he come to my house and cause probs? ande- poor mindee(only3) looks so confused, i could tell something had been happening, but hes lost and i wish i could help him..we've been doing lots of arty crafty sticky stuff this morn and he keeps saying hes tired so is sat watching peppa pig for 1/2 hour quiet time, so sad for him but what can i do?

MaureenMLove · 19/03/2008 11:35

Rose, can you make sure you are at school a few minutes early, with a friend for backup, just in case. Alternatively, phone the mum and she can call the school to tell them the only person that can collect is you.

If he arrives at your front door, just tell him firmly that your contract is with mindees mother and she has not given permission for anyone else to collect. If he would like you to call her, then fine, but otherwise, you cannot release the child.

Rose, I would go to school early too - but I would have though the mum would have let the school know that he isn't to pick up??

And I agree with what Mo said

Well, what a day we've had! Just finished our bunny ears with cardboard headband and ears covered in white and pink tissue paper. SO SO cute. They all look so lovely.

crace · 19/03/2008 11:57

OH, and don't let him in!

BoysAreLikeBunnies · 19/03/2008 12:43

Rose, don't release him to the father unless you've got permission - in writing.

Hi all

We've been - making easter baskets, cards, had HCBs for snack, had a trot round the village, played with bubbles in the garden, had a(chilly) picnic lunch (brrrr) now asleep aww.

Catch you all later

Bos15 · 19/03/2008 13:51

Hi looneytune i need your help
Could you please send me the variation template as I need it urgently?
my email is: [email protected]

ROSEgarden · 19/03/2008 14:09

Hi all thanks for that, i wouldnt let him in, nor would i let him take mindee but it appears he's a bit agressive and into the wrong kind of 'stuff', so im still concerned, i spoke to mindees teacher who said she knew about it and legally they couldnt stop him, but the WOULD stop him should he turn up as they dont know him, havent seen him before..mindee at playgroup with school this afty, so picking up there instead..just a bit worried about him approaching us if hes as bad as im told??

looneytune · 19/03/2008 14:13

Bos - sent it at 12.45 but had to dash straight off as mindees were just finishing their lunch. Have you not got it?

Bos15 · 19/03/2008 15:18

..............And breathe!!

Gosh, it's been a hectic day! We've been doing all sorts of arts and crafts and cooking today! Plus had a friend over with her 2 so it was busy busy busy!!

Hope you don't feel ill later after all those hbc's Mo!!

Oh Rose, that sounds a bit scary about mindees dad. I hope it's all ok.

Well done on making all those lovely things Boys

Hope you are feeling ok LT.

Hope your chocolate nests have set now Crace!

Sorry if I've missed anyone else and hello

southernbelle77 · 19/03/2008 17:36

Ooops, that's meant to say hcb rather than hbc!!

crace · 19/03/2008 18:18

Hey SB - does sound busy - so fill me in, what crafty cooking stuff did you do? (Storing up bank of things to do you see.. )

Just realised my appointment to see the consultant to move my c-section date forward is TOMORROW. Officially crapping it now - I am ready 9 weeks and 6 days away from given date already and that's TOTALLY freaking me out that it's single numbers (well almost) now. I was getting soppy with a mindees parent today about their little girl, she's been with me from 9 months, and turns 2 in 2 weeks. Sniff. She was my first real mindee too.

I am not ready!! Bit late for that isn't it?!

southernbelle77 · 19/03/2008 19:59

Little bit late Crace
Is mindee coming back to you after maternity leave?

Well we make toilet roll chicks, foam chicks (that foam papery type stuff!), rabbit shortbread, more chocolate nests! Think that's it, can't remember now! Oh, and made easter cards and finished decorating the paper mache baskets!

Mindee whose last day it was today was very excited about showing it to mummy and mummy was so happy with it and very excited about the contents (especially the chocolate nests and biscuits as her OH is away and mindee doesn't like sweet things (apart from making them!) so she gets to have it all
