CM Club: Further help with variation request needed.!

Groan!

So I sent Ofsted a very long, detailed letter asking for my variation request, along with a timesheet/table of what mindees would be here when.

They have sent me a letter asking for further information, half of which is in original letter.

I need to write:

how I am going to meet all the minded childrens needs

how I will make best use of the space and resources

how I am going to plan my day.

Will have two one year olds, a 4month old and 3yr old ds, plus two schoolies.

my head hurts. Mindees mum has already started new job and has mum looking after baby this week. Why do these things take so long!

KayS - sounds like they've sent you the standard letter as that letter I sent covers all that stuff. Maybe reply saying about how you'll plan your day and say the rest is in the original letter?

I know LT - I seem to be drowning in endless paperwork, stress and redtape at the minute. Good job mindee not turned up this morning! Yopur template was realy useful and I think had most of what they want in it. Have been drafting reply tho.

TBH I have spent the morning looking at WOH jobs. I am so stressed out with cm and family stuff, am working 12 hr days and earning a pittance. May have to get a full time job and squeeze finishing ym nvq into my spare time as I feel like it's all too much at the mo.

How are you doing?

I know at least four cm who have had exactly the same situation.

They just ended up having to send ofsted everything twice. Keep phoning them and sometimes it works!

Kay - {{{hugs}}}, I think you need to think about your future at home and decide what to do as you sound really down about it all. Sometimes you have to deal with one thing at a time, wish I could help you with your decision making as I know how hard these things are!! As for Ofsted, I'd ring them and see what they say as they certainly seem to have just bunged a standard letter in the post. Same happened to me. I'm ok thanks, just very tired and counting down the weeks to my maternity leave Take care x

KaySamuels · 18/03/2008 14:11

Grr well I got it written out and have posted it off.

I am feeling at the moment like I need to say goodbye to childminding. If I am though I need to tell my freind now. I don't want her aby settling with me then having to get used to someone new.

DS is no longer enjoying me childminding and although I love working with kids I am bored and craving adult company, and a team to work with.

Maybe I am just having a bad week.

I refuse to post anything to OFSTED any more - I scanned my signature in & I send everything by email - they can't say they never got the email because they send an automatic accknowledgement

looneytune · 18/03/2008 19:28

I do the same but I'm pretty sure Kay did the first time? They just seem to be sending a lot of these 'standard' letters recently

KatyMac · 18/03/2008 19:31

So I'd type it out & email it - I am not an OFSTED fan atm

KaySamuels · 18/03/2008 19:45

Yes my first letter I emailed to them, they said unless I could scan my signature on to it and send it again I would have to use royal mail. I don't have a scanner so that was out. I also have no printer (it went kerputt last month) so I had to take a walk to the library to print letter out, then post it first class.

I have been calling them, am bad at waiting at the best of times TBH!

Thanks for the advice

Sed me a copy of your signature (by post) & I will scan it & email it back to you for next time (grr OFSTED)

KaySamuels · 18/03/2008 20:32

Aaw KM that is lovely of you would never have thought of that!

Like the idea of defeating the bureaucracy. {evil cackle emotion!}

I will email you for your address if that's ok
