100k threshold on tax free childcare

Hello!

I am hoping for some advice as I get slightly confused by what is deductible.

I have just re confirmed eligibility for free hours but having looked at my husbands pay slip with 3 pay dates left till the end of march his earrings are currently very close to 100k

Currently he is at 80k so I think this re confirmation will be fine but he receives bonuses every 3 months and had a large one at the beginning of the year which has inflated his earning . He isn't expecting his next bonus to be large at all and is confident he will be just under but when I am looking at his gross income can I literally work out what he has paid into his work pension scheme deductions and take that off the figure to give us Leeway or how does it work with pensions?

Thanks so much in advance

Anything contributed into pension does not count towards the £100k.

Thank you! That's really useful to know.

If we go over it may be by 1 or 2k I'm guessing there is absolutely no leeway on that.

There’s no buffer. Go over by 1p and you’re out.
