Full of cold here too - AGAIN! Feel pants, Dh and dd have it too - last night was awful.

Friday night was ok thanks EM, now I know why I didn't feel great. but got some 1:1 with DH which hasn't happened in ages.

4 day week here too, wooohooo!!

mumlove · 17/03/2008 08:11

Morning everyone.
I woke with a sore throat yesterday morning so waiting to see if anything more comes of it! At least we can all sit together in the same room without masks over us.
I have a 4 day week to, then 3 days 1 st week of school hols then 4 days last week of hols but a very quiet week as 2 mindees will be on hols too.

MaureenMLove · 17/03/2008 08:15

Morning. 2 full days Monday and Tuesday for me, then just after schoolies Wednesday and Thursday. Next week is my last week with pre-schooler and that will only be one day too, because she usually comes on a Monday.

mindingmum · 17/03/2008 08:16

Morning em and crace

--passes tissues and paracetamol

Am so jealous of your 4 day week - I've got to work today (don't work Mondays) and it feels like torture!

And I always offer to work bank holidays cos if they don't need you and it's a contracted day, you still get paid BUT I've got what I deserve this time cos two of them are coming on Friday!!! - that will teach me for being greedy!!

mumlove · 17/03/2008 08:21

crace - I'm glad you had some time with your DH, I went out with my DH, his best mate and his wife on saturday. It was lovely not to have DD moaning and whinning (she was at my mums) but she paid us back yesterday by not doing as we asked!

crace · 17/03/2008 08:46

Heya ML - sorry you aren't feeling well too - it's this time of year isn't it?

Mo How are you feeling about winding up? Mixed feelings I suppose?

MM - OH NO! Sorry the plan backfired. I have the same rule, tbh. This time I chose not to charge as I reallyreally really wanted the time off and it was worth it to not earn money. Otherwise, I very well may have been in the same boat. For you

Yes, I know what you mean ML about the dc. That night was horrific as dd was very unsettled. Almost not worth it, frankly!

MaureenMLove · 17/03/2008 09:17

Is an odd feeling. People with just their own children, don't notice the toys disappearing, because its a gradually thing. Like not putting a stair gate up anymore or not worrying so much about plug socket covers and stuff like that. For me, I'm going from completely child friendly, to adult house only, all in the same day!

Its an exciting and different stage of my life, is all I can say! I will, of course, be in here plenty. I'll be home by 3.15 and no work during the school holidays at all!

Somebody ought to do something with these computer viruses...

coolj · 17/03/2008 11:16

And Sudafed is good for getting rid of runny/stuffy noses. Hope you feel better soon

looneytune · 17/03/2008 12:55

Afternoon all

So, we all have colds then!!!

I'm soooo pleased for two 4 day weeks!!! I also used to be available bank hols but decided last year that I want my family time so now don't charge for bank hols and looking forward to my time off. I'm mostly looking forward to a couple of lay ins as not had one for a couple of weeks due to bloomin courses!!

crace - glad you had a good time in the end

Rose - how's your db?

Mo - gosh, must be really weird for you!!

I've only got one mindee until school time as tiny baby is off sick today, bless her.

I'm pleased to have an easier day tbh, I'm just shattered!! Had 2nd part of first aid training on Saturday so was out from 8.30am - 4.15pm. Then was a bit worried about something so on phone to my mum, midwife and hospital and then had to go in so was out from 5.45pm - 9.40pm, 3 and half hours at the delivery suite!! It was sooooooo busy Then yesterday up with ds and straight into a major project with him followed by lots of accounts work, planning how on earth we'll survive my 12 weeks off, helping dh with leaking radiator (it came off the wall ) and housework. I just want to sleep for a week and if I have to do anything, I want it to be fun and not bloomin work!!! Anyone else feel like it's all work and no play? (sure we all do!!)

Anyway, mindee finished her food so time to put her down for a nap.

Catchya later

MaureenMLove · 17/03/2008 13:02

Right, that's part one of the week done. Mindee is fed and watered and now sleeping. We went to the library this morning and then I got the play tunnel out for her. She absolutely loved it! I think it will be going home with her tonight. I don't need it anymore!

southernbelle77 · 17/03/2008 13:11

Hi all!

I've not been able to pop in for a few days with one thing and another. DD has been really poorly so have been busy looking after her! She has her 3 1/2 year check this afternoon so off to the hospital with dd and mindee!

Spent the morning doing lots of easter crafts! We made paper mache baskets and have painted them and decorated them. We have also made chocolate nests (with shredded wheat and they look fab!).

Oooh, 'that' smell is wafting at me, better go and change mindee!!

Catch up later

ROSEgarden · 17/03/2008 13:16

no news yet Loony

LoveMyGirls · 17/03/2008 13:17

Hi everyone, I've got a quiet week too, One mindee has left because mum is on mat leave but will hopefully come back at some point i hope! Baby's mum has the week of so hes doing fewer hours this week and then I've got friday off, dp helped me do loads round the house yesterday so not much to do today, i'm finishing about 2.30 today and dd1 wants to pop into town.

looneytune · 17/03/2008 13:23

Fingers still crossed Rose

Does anyone know where I can download a Health and Safety poster? Was told at first aid training we have to have this up by law, another poster!!

crace · 17/03/2008 13:26

SB - how did you make the paper mache baskets please??

MaureenMLove · 17/03/2008 13:34

Oh ffs! A Health and Safety poster! What a crock of sh*t!

Anyhooo! What about here? Ihaven't looked in depth, but it seems you can personalize them.

southernbelle77 · 17/03/2008 13:49

Crace - made glue out of flour and water (mix one cup of flour with one cup of water. Put into a saucepan and add 2 -3 more cups of water and heat, stirring constantly, for about 3 minutes until it thickens. Leave to cool)Or use wallpaper paste. Cut up newspaper, painted a balloon with glue, stuck on paper and cover in glue. Repeat for about 4 layers. Finish with a layer of glue. Put in airing cupboard to dry (dried in one day this way, but takes about 2 - 3 days at room temperature).

I covered about half a small balloon and put a handle with paper mache too.

VERY messy! But great fun and looks fab!

southernbelle77 · 17/03/2008 13:55

Ok, going to try and catch up with you all now...

EM - hope you are feeling a bit better and managed to get soem honey and lemon!

Crace - hope your cold isn't too bad either and I'm really pleased you had a good time with DH on Friday night.

ML - Sorry you've got a sore throat. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Mo

Hi everyone else too! Sorry just realised the time so got to dash to the hospital!
