Over night child care

Myself and my partner haven’t had any time alone in a long time, we have all the support we need when it comes to childcare during working hours etc but have struggled with over night child care as in we have small families and they are very busy especially over the weekends which is fine BUT
We are desperate for a night out LOL was thinking about using a childminder or babysitter and posting a job on childcare.co.uk.

I have used a child minder recently so I could attend a meeting and it was a really nice experience for my children they loved her.

Is this a selfish thing to do? Book a baby sitter so we can have a night out- we will be going back home and it’s not going to be an over night affair but is this reasonable?

Of course it's perfectly reasonable! Obviously you'll want someone qualified/recommended etc but go for it. We used to use a babysitter who lived locally at least once a month when our DCs were small. Your relationship is important too!

Get to know a babysitter, have them do several evenings. Then once your children know them have them do an overnight.

When looking for a babysitter ask if they would be able to do an overnight in future. Overnights can be very costly, so discuss what sort of cost it may be.

Just starting to feel like I’m being selfish! Or is it my mum guilt kicking in 🤷‍♀️

If you're coming home, that isn't overnight childcare is it? Did you mean to make that the title if your thread? Am I misunderstanding something?

It's fine either way tbh, but I know I wouldn't be comfortable leaving my dcs overnight with an agency sitter for example, but I would be happy if they were qualified and DBS checked to leave them for a few hours while I went out for dinner.

It’s entirely reasonable
