Childminder/Nursery in SW11 (Battersea/Clapham) HELP!

Hi,

Our baby is due in June 2008, and I will be returning to work after 6 months. We are considering the options of either a nursery or a childminder, in the SW11 area.

Does anyone have any recommendations to either of the above?

What is a good way of starting a search for a childminder?

Hi Peining,
i know there is website where you can type in your post code and it will search for the nearest childminder to you. Or maybe going on the wandsworth.gov.uk website - cause i think CM's are overseen by local authorities (i think)
lots of nurseries in clapham/battersea -- if you go on that Families magazine - i think they also have a website, i'm sure you will find some there.
My oldest went to Bringing Up Baby near queenstown road when she was 2 and a bit but they take younger children there. But there are lots of choices.
Have you looked into nannyshare? there is a website called sharingcare.co.uk i think - only because lots of families in battersea and clapham have nannies and you might be able to find someone who would be happy to arrange something with you.

which part of sw11 are you in? i can recommend a nursery in sw4 which is easily accessible from e.g. northcote rd area.

We live on the north side of Clapham Common near Battersea Rise, so not too far from Northcote Road. Bossykate, if you could let me know the name of the nursery in SW4, I will check it out. Will also check Bring Up Baby.

There are 'Meet a childminder' mornings normally run every couple of weeks. Had one in Twickenham last week. Its a great chance for parents to meet childminders in a friendly environment. Contact your local Children's information centre and they will let you know. good luck!
