SUPER URGENT: does anyone know of a nanny/childcarer who can start Sunday night and do weekdays 24 hour cover?

I am in the middle of a client placement myself for the next 3 weeks, possibly four weeks and my childcarer has let me down at the last second and I need to replace her by the end of this weekend!

I need a reliable, trustworthy childcarer with references/recs who can start now.

Do any of you know someone? I am sooooo desperate, my client has just had a baby born with complications and needs me there.

More details on request, thanks.

Mumsnetters, save me aaaaaagh!

Also, I'm interested in ANY possibilities that can get me through at least the next week, whether that be patchy cover or for just the one week.

I leave Sunday night and return the same time Friday - can be live in or live out and is in St Albans, Herts.

How many children and what ages? I might know someone who can help, depending on what is required.

dividedself · 10/03/2008 10:06

Hi

I'm still in the lurch - have a number of half possibilities but nothing that fully fits the bill as yet. Was due to use Bos as childminder this morning but could not get hold of pet sitter so was unable to leave for work today.

Absolute dreadful nightmare this is and I feel utterly, utterly awful about keeping my client waiting.

So, children are 8, 6 and 4 with 2 at school and one in nursery half days. I need cover for Sun night til Fri evening or Mon morning to Sat morning over the next 3 or 4 weeks. So, weekdays for 24 hours.

Also, I'm earning £150 per day myself for maternity 24hrsx5 and so need to keep to some kind of logical budget for my own childcare!

Mmm, trouble is, that sort of care won't come cheaply in St Albans, probably all that you are earning I am afraid to say

Bos15 · 10/03/2008 10:47

"look at this "

Bos15 · 10/03/2008 10:53

"or this"

eleusis · 10/03/2008 11:07

Have I got this right, you want 24 hour cover for 5 straight days for £150?

Surely you jest.

Further more, you are going to go to a job for these same hours and make ony £150?

I must have misunderstood.

crace · 10/03/2008 11:13

£150 per day I think?

dividedself · 10/03/2008 11:27

Hi Bos I'm flatout trying to sort pets at the mo...

Everyone else, I'm earning £150 per day for maternity 24 hr cover and requiring childcare for the same duration over 5 days for a rate that leaves me some income.

The only things thatmake this feasible are the fact that my cover is broken as children are in school and nursery creating free time in the day but not evenings or night, thus the work hours are less or if the carer was Approved and thus I could claim tax credit back under the Approved carer scheme iyswim.
