Just going into the network and wanted to know how you all follow the EYFS??

Ie how do you proove you are doing what your meant to be??
Any tips on how to do it the easiest way poss.

I need to get some more paperwork done for Osted to see too, to try and get an outstanding (would be great). But what EXTRA do you do to everyone else to get that???

HOpe that makes sense!!!

TIP - do NOT do ANYTHING to do with EYFS until September as far as showing Ofsted anyway. You are still to follow B23 (birth to three matters) until then. Ofsted aren't trained on it yet and I've been told if we go the new way too soon, they'll actually downgrade

Good luck though. The great thing about EYFS is that it's about NOT planning etc. so much more like a lot of us have been for ages

Gotta go

ok thanks.

So even if i was following the B23 for now; how do you all prove your doing that. Do you have observation books??

Just need advice on how to do these obs??

1 line a week per child is plenty
just observe then in play with each other its so easy

mindermummy · 04/03/2008 13:19

And do you write it down in a book or something??

i am a network childminder and in our area we have learning journey books for mindees and do our planning and obs to fit in with EYFS and chart it in the book. We have just been told to take a camara with us (network are being provided with these free this month in my area) and click away a few brief words on a sticker on a roll in pocket then write up later the area of learning and aspect it links in with once you get into it its easy I would suggest getting used to EYFS now so its second nature by sept

mindermummy · 06/03/2008 20:35

thanks.
Where do you get those journey books from then??
