can anyone help. my public liability insurance is due for renewal, but ive decided to give up childminding in a couple of months. is there anywhere that would do insurance for just a couple of months. i dont really want to pay out for a whole year(cant afford it really!). i want to be covered obviously for the next few weeks until i stop minding. i only have over 8 yr olds at the mo, so not sure if that makes a difference.

Try contacting Morton Michel on 0845 2570117. Have a chat with them to see if they could do a short-term policy, or not.

I am in a position of only needing PLI for 9 months this year, and agreed with Morton Michel to pay for the whole year but get a refund when I inform them I am giving up work

they also let me pay in 3 instalments (over 3 months) so in your situation, you would still be paying the instalments when it was time for your refund!
