30 free hours and mandatory review

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help, we’re due to start our 30 free hours in September. We’ll split it across two providers and it’s been so stressful getting to this point with one of our providers and finally got it confirmed today a few days ahead of the cut off deadline.

I went on to reconfirm and we’ve been asked to do a mandatory review. This happened last year too, my husband’s work is more seasonal so from April to August he earns more than he would through the winter so they think it will go above the £100k when we won’t. Also, he’s not been paying for a company car since December because he’s been waiting for it to arrive so that will also affect his earnings now.

I know the tax free childcare element will be paid back once the mandatory review is complete, but what will happen to the free hours in the meantime? Do they get cancelled until we can satisfy the review? Will we not be able to start them up until January?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you.
