It's a horrible situation isn't it!! I had mindee starting and was really rough myself, but just when I was going to call her she turned up on the door step! I had to take him, felt rotten if I had to cancel and it was her first day back at work.

You have 2 options really - send ds to your mums and keep the mindees or keep your ds and cancel the mindees for today. It just doesn't look great for a first day, but these things can't be helped!!

I hope your ds feels better soon. And she will understand if she has to go to your mum's for a few hours. She'll probably get spoilt rotten as well!

DD2 was miserable tue and wed (and monday actually) nothing like a sick bug so didn't cancel work but she was hard work, she had a cough/ cold and was badly constipated she was clingy and crying alot, fil rang and offered to have her tue and wed so she could have some chill out time and be pampered while i looked after my mindees, it did her the world of good to sleep as long as she wanted without being woken for the school runs etc and then wed pm she managed a pooh so has been much happier since then.

Bit late now but - If sickness bug i'd cancel because of germs in the air and on toys your ds has been playing with etc plus sick children like to have their mum - your very lucky your mum offered have him even though he was being sick.

Coughs and colds we just muddle through and even if i'm ill i just have beechams flu plus the only time i'll cancel in that situation is if I feel like I can't take proper care of the children.
