hi everyone need some advice from other childminders about temp/holiday contracts.A parent came to see me today about holiday care for 3 mornings a week during school holidays, I explained to her that i would be able to do this if i was avalable and with in my numbers but could not guarantee her a permenant place for holiday care as i may in the future have a child full time with more hours. Question is do i do a temporary contract for just the 3 mornings she is here during the holiday then the next school holiday have another contract signed? not sure how to word i contract for temp care as i not brought the ncma starter pack yet

I have a few parents that ring up for occasional arrangements like this. I have been messed about though where people have phoned to book, but not turned up & forgot to let me know they weren't coming after all.

So now I charge a non-refundable annual registration fee to cover the administration costs of producing the child's file & all the permission forms etc which we redo each year. Some childminders charge this for all contracts, but I only do for the "ad-hoc"/occasional ones as the long-term contract require a months deposit.

Then, prior to each holiday I send them a booking form which shows the dates I have available and they can return with their payment/deposit to request any days they want. Obviously I return the payment if someone else has beaten them to the date they wanted.

I don't use NCMA contracts, so for temporary arrangements I use the same contract and just add that the parent & childminder agree the arrangement will end on [date]. And specify the actual dates of childcare if its just a few days here & there rather than the same days/hours each week.
