Morning all. Back to work for anyone that was off last week? I've got 3 coming in about 10 mins or so and then 2 straight to school. DD is still off until tomorrow, so baby mindee will be hanging on to her most of the day, no doubt!

So, what's in store for you all this week? I've got my interview on Friday and it's Kbears birthday starting on Friday night! Its actually on Sunday.

Morning!

Two mindees here today. Off to take them out later for the morning and then the mad rush back to have one mindee picked up and lunch for other mindee and dd before taking dd to preschool! Then off to the library with mindee this afternoon and then back for a sleep - mindee not me although I could do with one too!!

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/02/2008 09:33

Morning all !

Looks like mindees are going to be late, baby has a horrid cold and poss ear infection, parent taking to doc for advice, then we'll see.

Just 1 after-schoolie so I will have a quick dibble round the boards then crack on with coursework for my Cache diploma

Congrats EM

SB lol at nap

Mo - having a senior moment, what is the interview for ?

MaureenMLove · 25/02/2008 09:42

No you're not, you may not have been around when I mentioned it. I've got an interview for a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school.

I've just turned TV on for mindee to sit and eat her grapes watching. Last week, I watched that Carrie and David Grant thing with her and she thought David was hilarious! Couldn't stop laughing about him and pointing. So, the channel that was on, when I switched on was Channel 5 and David Grant is on the panel of Wright Stuff! She is going mad! Every time he comes on the screen, she is shouting 'man beebies!' and making the mos high pitched giggle! I've never seen anything like it! He's not that funny is he?

KaySamuels · 25/02/2008 11:52

Hi everyone

Me and DS are shattered he had an asthma attack last night so we didn't get much sleep. Only got a schoolie today so we are slobbing about at home, not taking him to preschool as he is really tired out and still a bit wheezy bless him!

We have both dss coming for tea today as it is youngest dss's birthday - 10 years old! Was a cute lickle 3yr old when I met dp!!

Congratulations EM!

crace · 25/02/2008 12:43

Oh my goodness gracious I am knackered today - we painted all weekend and by the end of it my back was done in. Bedtime was a relief. Poor dd has a wicked cold and so not getting much done today, just lots of reading and cuddling with the mindees and dd. My type of day, really!

Hey SB hope today goes well, sounds all very planned out!

EM congrats again - ask away, LT and I have done the legwork now so we "know" it all. Har har, well happy to help anyway

Hi Boys! Good luck with CACHE stuff.. you have my sympathy

Mo, how exciting, this Friday! Do you know if it's a dead cert or if there are lots of candidates?

dmo, yeah slaves are useful Mine emptied the dishwasher and emptied the bin. Oh and went out for milk too this a.m. Poor kid I bribe them with good food though.

Kay, sounds scary - all ok now? Take it easy, hope ds feels better soon!

Off to have some lunch and see if I can convince everyone to "rest". Wish me luck!

ROSEgarden · 25/02/2008 12:43

HI All, Congratulations Em, take care of yourself

well its monday again and you know what that means!............more painting..this time its our horrible ornge stained wooden internal doors..they are now becoming lovely white bright and clean looking..thoght satin wood would be best?, but now its on, they look a bit cheap so think ill carry on with undercoating in satin wood then thin layer of gloss over top..love getting stuff dont like this, had friends round at weekend and they all thought hall was fab(only had a lick of magnolia paint!) so was v.pleased with my efforts

missing dd today, but couldnt have got this done with her at home, plus she was excited about getting back, i love to see her happy like that..well back to do second coat on horrible dark brown bath panel..dp doesnt know ive done it yet, looks much better even now so hope second coat will make it look wow!, then bathroom is fine until we rip it out later in year!

have good day everyone

ROSEgarden · 25/02/2008 12:44

oh and Kay hope your ds is ok now ppoor lamb

MaureenMLove · 25/02/2008 12:55

Mindee sleeping. Hurrah! She is so good at going to sleep. Its a long time since I've had such an easy one to sleep! All I have to say is 'I think its time for a sleep, regardless of whether she is getting grumpy, she just says, 'yes', lies down, puts her thumb in her mouth and off she goes! She'll have 2 hours, no problem!

Happy lunch time to you all.

I have had a lovely morning with 1 mindee while the others were at preschool/school. We got the paints out! Mindee is now having a sleep while other mindee does some colouring.
Glad to have DD back at school and not keeping on at me.

MaureenMLove · 25/02/2008 13:11

Crace - no the job is not a dead cert. The letter actually says, 'because of the high interest in this position, we will try to keep to your interview time, but please bare with us.'

I've got two families to tell, if I get the job and I want the job! I may decide its not for me! I need to give notice on Monday, latest, if I do get/want it! eeek!

Yeek, that's a gamble - when will they know who they are choosing?

Hi Rose and ML!

ROSEgarden · 25/02/2008 13:28

hey chick hows your hands and legs? is the treatment been working?

MaureenMLove · 25/02/2008 13:43

I'm hoping they'll make a decision on that day. I will ask tbh. They want start date of 1st April, so they should respect the fact that people may need to give a months notice to their current employers. There is also the little matter of a free holiday during term time too! THAT is more likely to be the sticking point! I'm not fussed tbh, I could just do with the experience of a modern interview! I haven't had one since 1984!

Good attitude Mo, hopefully they will decide quickly. And it's good practice!

Saz73 · 25/02/2008 15:56

Hello, in my spare 5 mins (while mindee is sleeping) just quickly flicked through the NCMA News. There is an interesting article in there about Motor Insurance. My vehicle is insured for Business Class 1 for childminding as advised by my insurance company. The article in the NCMA News says that this is not enough, to carry minded children you should have Class 3 Business Use as the mininum level. I'm going to be phoneing my insurance company tonite. Not sure how many others are like me but just thought I would bring it to your attention.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 25/02/2008 17:58

We made hand lilies today, like these

can't remeber who gave me the link, they are beautiful, so that Mothering Sunday sorted for one family then.

crace · 25/02/2008 18:09

Gosh we are quiet today! Boys, how did they come out? I gave it to you! We are doing them on Weds, glad it worked out!

MaureenMLove · 25/02/2008 18:40

Now that's what I call, perfik! Came home from doing Rainbows about at 5.45. DH is in the kitchen, just putting homemade shepherds pie in the oven. He says, 'DD and her mate helped, dishwasher emptied and filed again, 10 mins under the grill and you can eat it!' There was an emergency with dd's friend just before I left, apparently her brother had gone over the handlebars of his bike and needed to go to A&E. DD phoned me and asked if friend could come back here, until they got back, so I just said, 'speak to your father, I'm off out!' He took them both to the shops for supplies, then set about getting them to make the dinner! Dinner was delish!

Mo - You will have to get your DD to cook more often from now on.

boys - we are making lillies here to, katymac said how to make them, but I never saw a link to them.

crace · 25/02/2008 19:34

Good ole Dh hey Mo? Must have been a nice surprise for you!

ML - what was Katy's version?

Without husband AGAIN tonight, looks like this is a trend and not around tomorrow night either. Ok, for now as I am so tired I go to bed 8/9 but when baby comes, I will expect some promptness!
