Starting nursery - still on 2 naps

DS (nearly 1) starting nursery next week and still on 2 naps, loves a daytime sleep and have to wake him up from both naps every day!
Had a settling in session this morning where nursery workers seemed shocked he was still on 2 naps, and seemed to intimate that he will just “fit in” with what everyone else is doing. They said they will try to get him to nap but this is in a corner of the baby room in bright daylight with kids playing and being noisy at the other end of the room! Most children in baby room are 1-2 and will have a lunchtime nap 1-3pm apparently, so he will be only one of 2 babies who have 2 naps.
DS can’t go more than 4 hours without having a tired meltdown so I am a bit concerned about him getting enough sleep. Do I just need to let go and roll with it and see how he is? Can i get him to have 2 naps the days he is at home? I just don’t think he is ready to drop a nap yet and they seemed pretty keen on him not having 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It's absolutely your choice. If you think he needs 2 naps then they will have to implement that as that's his routine x

This is strange from your nursery. DD started nursery at just shy of 12 months and was on 2 naps until she was roughly 14 months. The nursery made this possible as many babies in the baby room were on 2 naps. The nursery should really replicate your routine but maybe they just don't have the space and it's very unpractical to do so ..

My dd started nursery at 14 months and was still on 2 naps, they continued with my routine to start with but she gradually started to sync with the other babies and nursery routine with just 1 longer nap.
It didn’t really matter, she would still have 2 naps at home until she dropped to 1 at home too.
