Thinking of taking on a 2 month old

Hi I've just found this site and hoping someone can offer some advice. I've been offered a full-time baby for the end of March who was only born on the 21st January of this year.

Have any of you taken on tiny babies? If so what are the benefits / drawbacks?

Many thanks

im not a nanny or cm, but a doula, with 2 ds's myself.

id say a 2mth old is very young to be in fulltime childcare, but is needs must, then lots of cuddles/attention essential.

benefits:

lovely 2 mth old baby!
sleep lots
would love cuddles

drawbacks:

teething
routine
weaning

would it fit in with your other mindees?
could you commit alot of attention to the baby?
matbe consider a sling if he/she likes it?

Well during the day if would only be my own daughter (almost 2) and the baby. I've got before and after school mindees as well. It is sad that the mum has to go back to work but at least she's considering a cm rather than a nursery.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Everything hertsnessex said I started with an 8 week old on Monday. Just over a year ago had a 5 week old (adhoc then at 7 weeks 3 full days) and a couple of months later an 8 week old started doing 2 days, so I pretty much had that age all week. I personally loved it. Yes, there's routine to establish as they aren't usually in a routine by then, but I love looking after tiny babies My current 8 week old is only 2 days a week but mum probably wants to increase the hours/days soon. I also have a 12 month old on these days and so far it's been fine.

Agree about the sling. I'm thinking about trying mine out but I need to see how it is with my bump (I'm 22 weeks pg myself). I found it great when I had the babies last year.
