Hi,

No judgement please.

Can anyone recommend a maternity night nurse in the Hertfordshire area? I'm struggling with a C-section and im looking to have a couple of nights help until im recovered enough to actually help.

Thanks

Sorry I don't have any recommendations but just to say I really hope people don't judge, how can they. You've just had major abdominal surgery and not everyone has family, friends or even a partner to help. Even if you do, it is nobody's business but your own. You're arranging care for your baby, not leaving them uncared for.
Hope you're ok OP xx

God, why would anyone judge you? I hope you find someone fabulous and recover faster! You’re making a sensible choice if you’re exhausted and unwell and can afford it.

Moltenpink · 12/06/2023 13:36

Thought you were going to suggest drugging your kids with Night Nurse!

Hope you find someone & get a break soon

BitOutOfPractice · 12/06/2023 13:36

I genuinely thought this would be about being addicted to the medicine Night Nurse. But even if it was, I wouldn't have judged.

I don't have any recommendation s but I think it's a brilliant idea.

Congratulations on the baby and I hope you recover well

Popskipiekin · 12/06/2023 13:38

Maybe see if MN will change your title to include location and that you’re looking for a recommendation?
I clicked on your thread thinking you were looking to give your child the medicine “night nurse” 😂 (I didn’t see it was in childcare)
Sorry no recommendations from me but adding another voice to say feel no shame in asking for the support you need. I thought I could cope without extra support then baby arrived and I was all over the place, and that was without a C section. I hope you find a wonderful person to help you.

SOSMam · 12/06/2023 14:08

Thanks for all the comments. Yes thinking about it I should probably change the title. Not sure how to do it.

@mnhq - could you change the title to maternity night nurse and include area?

Report your first post asking them to change title

No judgement here / that's my job but sadly I don't cover that area - I'm Kent and Sussex

But

I'm on a mn group that I'm happy to post your job. I will message you

We've had good success with childcare.co.uk - found our fantastic nanny there

(we used her for sleep training but she also just does standard night nannying)

Thats exactly what I thought! I knew a nurse who did that back in the 80’s. Bloody hell op you are clearly very, very tired.

Why would anyone judge you for having a night nurse? Do you have any help at all at home?

sleepymama3 · 14/06/2023 18:14

Could it be that your search should include postpartum doula? I'm sure they make some provision for working at night, after all if they also work as a birth doula they could be called at any time....

YoucancallmeKAREN · 14/06/2023 18:26

Why would anyone judge, do what you need to do Flowers

ArcticBells · 14/06/2023 18:27

There used to be an agency called Night Nannies. Not sure if they are still going or cover your area.

Yes they are still running

StopStartStop · 14/06/2023 18:38

Goodness, I thought you were dosing your baby with medicine for colds!
No one will 'judge' - get the help you need.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

hattyhathat · 14/06/2023 18:39

That sounds lovely! I thought you were asking about the medication! Good luck. Hope you get some rest x

EmeraldPanda · 14/06/2023 18:56

I booked my amazing maternity nurse through Deearna’s maternity nurse agency, Deearna is super lovely and has wonderful nurses on her books.

The nurse I used is with another Mum at the moment but I’m sure Deearna can help. Good luck and wishing you a speedy recovery!

headcheffer · 14/06/2023 18:56

I'd also suggest a post partum doula if you can get one. They help you get the rest you need, but also look after you so you can concentrate on giving your energy to baby. Highly recommend.

TimeToMoveIt · 14/06/2023 20:22

no judgement here op, I wish I could have had one!
