my almost 3 week old baby started infant gaviscon today due to silent reflux she went from drinking 4-5 ounces every 4 hours to drinking 3 ounces falling asleep a lot quicker during feeds Usually she stays awake until the last ounce but today she’s been falling asleep drinking the first ounce ?

Maybe post in parenting or feeding? This section is for childcare.

3oz is a perfectly fine amount. She may feed a bit more frequently but smaller more regular feeds will help with the reflux. 5oz is a lot especially for a 3 week old and really wouldn’t be helping reflux symptoms

It does thicken the milk so maybe try a larger teat

Perhaps she is tiring herself sucking so takes less

Also smaller fees are better worn reflux so maybe feed every 3hrs and less

150ml/5oz sounds a lot for a 3w old
