Not that it's THAT big a deal, but should I be worried that.. .

my babysitter/nanny (who is really a cleaner who sometimes does a bit of babysitting for in the eves). .

was, when dh & I returned earlier than expected, taking a long leisurely bath in my tub, with luxury bath oil that dh & ds splurged on for my birthday.

She was MORTIFIED to caught in the bathtub and explained that she can never take a bath in her shared house because the bathroom is always manky etc.

Of course I'd not have minded. But why not just ask?

It has affected my view of her because when she uses my house as if it's her own seems like a kind of mild version of dishonesty. Also: we noticed a few (but not too many, and not too expensive) phone calls to Poland on our phone bill that only she could have made b/c DH and I don't know anyone in Poland, and the dates correspond to days when she's been here.

And some days when she's here I've checked the history on our computer ad she seems to spend LOTS of time of her hotmail account and MySpace etc.

I like her though. And I think she works hard--when I'm there. So what do you think? Just a chat to sort it out? Or do you think she's bad news and shouldn't stay for too much longer?

One of these things e.g the bath in isolation, I would let pass. I think however she is Taking Advantage of you- big style.

I think I would say to her....
By the way I've noticed you've been using the phone etc etc, I don't mind but do you think you could just check with me first.

ingles2 · 04/02/2008 11:29

Oh and she is taking the piss a bit but don't they all!

nortynamechanger · 04/02/2008 11:34

I WOULD however have a BIG problem with it if she was doing it when she should be looking after the awake DCs.

If they are sleeping I wouldn't be quite so bothered.

As Ingles says (hello ) they all take the piss a bit (or a lot in may case ).

I would mention you know she is making calls and ask her to keep it to a minimum, perhaps even set a limit as you would if she was your AP.

Maybe install SKYPE on your pc, that is a cheaper option.

If it were me, she would be a goner by now. What next, you clothes, your bank details?

Phone? Not too bad but could have asked. Same with computer.

Your bath and oils?? No way. Too personal imho.
