What do you do if your CM is ill???????

My Childminder has had a few sick days this winter - either for her or her son. This isn't a major problem per se because I can do a lot of my work from home. Obv it's not the best situation, but it's not impossible either.

However, she has contacted me this morning to say she is ill and unable to work, this leaves me in a tight spot today because I really need to be in the office today, but it can't ber helped. Luckily, DS1 is at pre-school for some of the morning,. so it will be a bit easier to manage. However, it would be great if someone could step into the breach on these occasions. The other issue is that the CM has both of them, and obv if other CMs have spare places, they are unlikely to be able to have both of them. This is problematic because DP drops them off there in the morning and doesn't drive, so taking them to the same place is the best way.

Help!!!

they might, most do like to meet first but sometimes that can't be helped. just ring and ask.

Yes, absolutely I don't see why not! Give a ring around plus there is a site: www.emergencychildcare.co.uk/index/index.php (sorry can't do links) that you could try too

If she's making it a regular event in not being able to work, would you be better off looking for a nursery where cover is always available?
