Question about charging for siblings when one is at school full time

DS and DD go to a c/m and DD has a sibling discount. At the moment DS is at school just mornings and so when he is at the c/m, we pay for all the day ie including when he is at school.

In September he will start going to school full time and so will be cared for just before and after school ie 8am-9am and 3:15-5:30.

How do c/ms normally charge for this? During the time when only DD is there, will she get charged at the higher rate and then when both of them are there, will they both be charged at the rates they are at the moment?

Just trying to get a vague idea of what is usual .

sounds right to me when your son is not there you are not going to get lower rate

When a full time sibling starts school full time I charge them both at the higher part-time rate.

for me:
1st child full time 4.00 per hour=9:30h4.005days=190 pound per week
2nd child 4.50 per hour=3:15h4.505daye=73.125 pound - sibling discount(25%)=54.85 pound per week
if the 2nd child without sibling discount and in my lower rate 4.00 pound per hour=65 pound per week

Usually full fees will apply to the youngest child, with any sibling discount being applied to the eldest child as and when both children are booked to attend together. Some childminders only give sibling discount for full time contracts, some don't give it at all. Some consider the total hours you're booking each week rather than if they are being cared for at the same time.

I don't charge by the hour for school children, I charge session fees: - £4 for 8-9 and £12 for after school til 6pm. I already reduce this if people book a full week so I don't give sibling discount as well in term-time. In school holidays its £34 a day for first child, £30 for second.
