Vouchers or tax free

Whilst on maternity leave I heard employers continue to pay for childcare vouchers and don't deduct this from your mat pay, does anyone know if this is true? If it is I assume it's worth me sticking with vouchers rather then switching to tax free? I'm thinking I'll get my DH to pay into tax free instead, are we allowed to do this? Thanks in advance

You can't have both vouchers and tax free childcare. I'd have a look at the money saving expert as they have a comparison here to work out whether it's better to switch.

You can’t have both.

Do you mean I can't have both or as a family we can't have both?

I'm wondering if I just get the "free" vouchers whilst I'm on mat leave and then swap over to tax free when I return?

Thanks for the link
