CM Club........The Early Bird opens MONDAYS STAFFROOM

hennipenni · 27/01/2008 21:24

Hennipenni pops in to unlock staffroom early as she doesn't usually get the chance.

Wanders around plumping up cushions, topping up the tea and coffee caddies, see's that there's enough milk for the day, turns on the heating and straightens the magazines on the coffee table. Then contemplates raiding the secondary teachers staff room for their biscuit tin

Morning! An early bird popping into the already unlocked staffroom here!

All looking good so I'm going to get myself a cuppa and plonk myself down on the plumped up cushions and read a magazine while I get the chance!

Sent email to ofsted (with letter attached like he told me to!)so hopefully will hear about the variation soon (ish) [fingers crossed emotion]

Morning ladies. All ready for another week of fun with parents and mindees? How was your weekend?

shoshe · 28/01/2008 07:29

I'm down to one SAHmindee one is on holiday, one has chicken pox, so just my noisy boy during the day.

All the Schoolies tho.

I had a day totally to my self yesterday, lay on the sofa watching Brokeback Mountain again, God that film is soooooooooooo beautiful, makes me cry everytime.

eleanorsmum · 28/01/2008 07:45

morning all. if any of you saw my thread yesterday about the 11yearold you might have seen my news at the bottom!

I'm getting a new car!

so excited, thinking of places i can go just to drive it. should get it sat! It's a citroen synergie, lots of electric bits to play with and a cd player. how sad am i to be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited about it!

MaureenMLove · 28/01/2008 08:00

Yay to your new car EM. I'm looking this week, I think.

Just trying to get back straight from the party. I didn't do any ironing or washing all weekend, so I'm not sure where I am!

southernbelle77 · 28/01/2008 08:11

Did you enjoy your party Mo? No naughty antics I hope!

EM,that's good news about the car! Very exicting! I was equally excited when I got my new car!

Pretty quiet weekend here. Took DD to soft play with one of her friends and parents (parents were are friends before having kiding itms!) which kept them entertained and worn out! Yesterday we didn't do anything other than buy dd a scooter which we had been promising for a while!

mindee here now and can smell that ominious smell of dirty nappy so straight into the fun of it for me!

MaureenMLove · 28/01/2008 08:17

We had a great time, thanks. Did my usual drunken party peice though. I ended up wearing my wedding dress!

dmo · 28/01/2008 08:32

i have new mindee starting today just got the call yesterday to start today, they have just arrived in the uk on weds and are staying in a travel lodge so i nipped up to see them last night and got forms filled out and deposits etc (they have very good english)
baby girl is 8mths old (not had a baby for ages) only have her mon and tues while mum is at uni (dad works at sea on oil rigs)

looneytune · 28/01/2008 09:04

Morning all.

Mo - great party then

EM - I was the same when I was getting new car and it wasn't even that posh with lots of bits, just bigger and could fit lots of little ones in

dmo - enjoy baby

everyone else - hello

Just put mindee down for a nap as she's tired. She just did 4 steps to me and I was soooo proud and she had such a big smile on her face Thing is, whether or not to write in the book, mention to parents? I got an email from mum last night and it didn't mention she'd done steps so IF these were the first, I don't want to upset them. WWYD?

Off to hunt down some breakfast. I really want a bowl of Special K but we don't have enough milk - I need to pop out for some but sisters still need dropping off (not taking ds to school today). Think I'll be taking the car as it's the 3 under 3's and the toddler who won't walk so just a dash to the garage and back me thinks!!

See ya later

hennipenni · 28/01/2008 09:15

Morning all,

LT I personally wouldn't write anything in the book, would just leave it so that when baby walks for parents it may come across as being the first time (If that makes sense!)

Mo, glad you had a ggod party, I'm still in the process of organising mine.

EM, that's good news about thge car. I'm trying to persuade DH that he needs a run around for work as I am starting to need the family car more now, unfortunatly his work takes him out of the office most days so he needs the car to get about.

Morning to everybody else I haven't mentioned, gotta go and by some little toy cars for mindees. BYEEEE

Cheers henni - that's what I thought

MaureenMLove · 28/01/2008 09:28

I do that too. I always wait for the parents to tell me they've walked, before I start mentioning it. Looks like we'll be waiting a long time for my mindee atm, too. She's the one that was in plaster last summer and she's still on walking. She's 2 in April. She stands nearly all the time, but doesn't do the walking holding my hands thing, very well. Her feet and legs just don't seem to work together. Hospital follow up last week, wasn't bright either. She may have to go back in plastic again, in September. I'm dreading it. She'll be so heavy by then, without the added weight of plaster too.

MaureenMLove · 28/01/2008 09:30

Did any of that make sense! LOL, obviously my mindee will not be in plastic!

eleanorsmum · 28/01/2008 09:31

yes quite excited about car, can fill all my spaces now! lets hope! anyone want my old car (which is actually newer than the one i've just boguht!) it's a skoda ocatvia diesel estate, fab car soooooooooo econominical, just needed more space!

mindee here and was actuslly pleased to see me today at front door which was great. lets hope he's settled now! have good day all!

hennipenni · 28/01/2008 13:25

Just had a lovely walk back from dropping mindee 1 off at nursery, I decided to let mindee 2 (16months) walk part of the way home for the first time today, he really enjoyed himself and started to squeal at the flowers we saw .

Same mindee keeps doing silent poos that I can't smell, I check him every hour or so but he has just caught me out for the second time today, problem is that I keep sending him home with a sore bum . It's obv. easier to check when we're at home but when I have the upteen nursery/todler runs to do I keep getting caught out. Anybody got any ideas? (apart from check him more often which isn't always practical)

Afternoon everyone.
Well half a day done and I wish it was bedtime. Mindees have all been great playing together nicely etc, but my DD has been so challenging lately I have had to start walking away from her! School also finishes in 2 hrs so she will be here again, demanding that she be the centre of attention.

I hope you are all having a great day and I would like the sunshine to come back again the weekend weather was lovely .
