Child car seat and lap belt query (again!)

I've got a 51 reg Zafira which two Mothercare staff had 'fun' in today trying to find me a seat to fit in the middle with just the lap belt, but to no avail.

Does anyone else have this sort of Zafira and have a child car seat that fits in the middle?? If so, what is it?!!!

I don't have a Zafira, but I just bought a Britax Eclipse SI and the instructions show you can use it with just a lap belt. I bought it specifically so I could use it on an aircraft with lap belt. (I use 3 point belt in car.)

You need to get a britax freeway, but they are discontinued.
So far as I know it is now being made by fisher price see here

My local halfords had 1 a few months ago on sale and I wish I got it for a spare to use in DH car as his only has a lap belt in the middle.

I have one of those fisher price ones. It does have instructions to use with just a lap belt, but haven't tried it.

britax reniasance can fir with just a lap belt

it also has a belt tightener so unlike most other car seats it can still strap in quite tightly with just the lap belt.

Be sure you dont have buckle crunch though

Thanks everyone. A Britax Freeway was one of the ones that Mothercare tried (it was on offer in MCare, I now know why!) and they said no. The tried the eclipse too to no avail, I think to do with the buckle.

I'll try a FP one from Argos (great, as dh gets 10% off there!) and try fitting it myself!

Get in touch with Vauxhall - they should be able to tell you the seats they recommend.
