Got you, and I know if you are anything like me once my mind is made up it's 1) taken me a while to get there and 2) it's well thought out and not rash.

Nah you didn't! The Staff room is always here for just one more post! I suddenly had the urge to make some rum truffles, so I did!

Just phoned Ofsted about a possible variation so I can take on mindee I saw yesterday. Have to say, as much as we moan about them at times, he was actually really helpful and positive about getting one. Of course he couldn't say that I would definitely get one but at least he was positive and said it was certainly worth me trying. Have to write the letter now and see.
Only problem is, I'm not sure what to do from here. As without the variation already in place then I will have to either give notice to one day a week mindee or not take this one on. I guess I could have words with one day a week mindee and tell them the situation and hope they understand that I may have to let them go but hopefully will not!
Sorry going on now and I'm not even sure what it is I'm saying!

SB, did you tell Ofsted that the variation was urgent, if it was at all possible. I'd give them another ring and tell them the time scale. They do have a tendancy to drag their feet, unless you shimmy them on!

SB tough one, I wouldn't be inclined to warn parent you may give them notice. It might make things a bit strained? I would take Mo's advice and harass Ofsted once the letter is sent and include when you need the variance by.

Ofsted did tell me to write a date in the letter as then it would be pushed but he said put a start date on but I don't actually have one, but they don't actually know that right?! So I could say in like 2 weeks or something and just hope that if the new one starts the shift days don't cross over! How confusing!

well im still shatterd..but just had lots ofaction outside our normal quite road...gnag of about 30 walking up road..was watching our car(not outside hosue) incase they were being naughty?..a minute later a police cars screetches up with two huge vans!..police and wardens rushing roun, grab a lad walking in latter part of gang , arms behind back hear him say hes not thrown any bricks(i think?..its very noisy and was trying to be discreet peeping)
lad gets cuffs, searched(all over?, strange if it 'was' a brick?) and put in back of police car..some of his friends saunter back over mainly girls and get his phone of him"to ring yer mam"...p.c getss in front, does a bit of redioing(yes im good considering im peeping!), gets out opens back door to talk to lad..gets lad out(p.c now has something long thin and shiny in his mouth??), lad struggles and p.c pins him by throat!, to car!, lad is gurgling and p.c seems to put long shiny thing in/near his mouth face..lad effing and blinding/writhing, p.c takes him down(almost hitting my Fecking car!) and as the lad struggles, knees him!!!..lad go's down in arm lock????!!1..police van screetches up, ambulance and another warden van!..lad now totally going wild gets put in van and van is rocking all over road!!???..ambulance drives off and they all go????????????????????????????????????????
