Childcare for KIT days?

Clueless FTM here. What do people usually do for childcare if they want to take some KIT days towards the end of maternity leave? Don’t have any grandparents nearby we could ask and wouldn’t want my DH to take leave as he’s the higher earner and we need his income to cover expenses.

I'd look for a few local babysitters. Get to know them now. Build a relationship. Then they can cover your KIT days, anytime you need weekend cover, evening babysitting, when the baby is inevitably sent home from nursery sick, but isn't actually properly sick, nursery closures and any other ad hoc childcare needs. If you don't have local family it's a valuable resource to have.
