I just get mine from my local village chemist. I would just ask yours to get some in for you

fruitloop79 · 23/01/2008 08:53

london11 · 23/01/2008 18:42

E-bay, I buy blue nitrile ones as latex makes me itch. Only use for dirty nappy and then only when I remember but new years resolution is to try and remember more!

mumlove · 23/01/2008 19:07

I have some but I must remember to use them !!!!
Naughty childminder (sits on the bottom step of stairs).

mizzy · 24/01/2008 21:59

Last week during an inspection a childminder I know got a good (last time an outstanding) because she didn't wear gloves during a nappy change.

aGalChangedHerName · 24/01/2008 22:05

We have been told by the Care Commission to wear non latex (cos of potential allergies) gloves and now aprons for EVERY nappy change.

of course i will CC Officer

MaureenMLove · 24/01/2008 22:07

I use mine all the time.

They make fantastic balloon puppets!

looneytune · 25/01/2008 13:40

This drives me mad as I thought the reason for gloves was for OUR protection??? Therefore if we choose to risk, WTF has it got to do with Ofsted??? Or am I missing something?

aGalChangedHerName · 25/01/2008 18:56

I was told by the care commission it was for everyones protection. Ours and to stop infection between mindees?

looneytune · 25/01/2008 19:29

Oh, I just thought that because I immediately wash my hands with antibac liquid soap, I'd be ok. Maybe get some gloves then. Would I still have to use on my own though?

aGalChangedHerName · 26/01/2008 08:32

Thats the problem with the CC an ofsted hey? Think what you are told depends on the inspector?

shoshe · 26/01/2008 08:34

mmmmnnn Gloves!

Knew I had some somewhere

nannynick · 26/01/2008 08:39

Im having great trouble with 8 month old during nappy changes... she'll slip away so easily (is very mobile), so all changes are on the floor for her own safety. If I wore gloves I think it would be a lot worse... I do have a box of X-Large gloves though (still a little small - why don't they make gloves for men!). I do wonder how many nannies wear gloves during nappy changes, or to think of it, how many parents do.
