Hello. New to UK. Looking for advice on wages for a new nanny. Approx 35-40 hours pw. Three kids, 2 school going (going to school close to the house, so walkable) and an 18/12. Have been quoted wildly different amounts (£10-20ph) so need some advice. Previous nanny with loads of experience was paid €14. TIA.

My sil expects £14-15 in south west ,in London she was more £15-18
Reality is in sw they pay from £10 -15 so i think ask some agencys or maybe some other mums in area who use nannies

Have a google, rates seem to be around £13/hour gross. A little more if you need housekeeping too and significantly more if you only need after school.

Be aware that this must be the only profession that quotes prices as net salary, hence big discrepancies when comparing. (Also applies to contracts where net is a huge risk to take as the employer is then liable for any outstanding taxes, incorrect tax codes etc)
We're in London and pay 18/hr gross but I've seen higher and lower around us.
