hello, i have finished childminding for the 2007-2008 year as on maternity leave so thought i would do my tax return before i got too busy. does anyone know the % (percentages) for 2007-2008. i know my gross amount, then have taken off expenses and wear and tear, then i know the amount for personal allowance is £5225. then you have the balance and there are 2 different percentages you pay tax at! i cant find them anywhere!

if you do your return online it works it all out for you.

thank you that was what i needed. does the 10 % go from april 2008 then, so all tax from then will be at 22%?

Register on the HMRC website, and you will be able to do your tax return online. If you have all your paperwork, it will take not much more than a few minutes to work through it all.

i think from april 2008 its all tax at 20%... if you earn less than £15k you will be worse off, more than £15k approx and u will have more cash in your pocket
