ROSEgarden · 11/01/2008 20:27

LOL Mo
have you decided what your after for bday?

shoshe · 11/01/2008 20:28

Mo sent DH to the shop for me, brought me back 3 galaxy bars

MaureenMLove · 11/01/2008 20:32

I really, really don't know what I want. Trouble is, when you both earn and the money goes in the same account to be spent at will, it just seems kinda pointless. If I want something, I go and get it! (Not that I do) Its not like he's spending his hard earnt cash on me, because it could just as easily be mine.

I want a new pair of boots, but he can't get them. I'd quite like another Willow Tree figure. Two of my mindees mums have bought me one and I quite like them, but it means no suprise, because I'll have to explain what I want! I don't know!

MaureenMLove · 11/01/2008 20:36

This is willow tree. And this is the one I got from a parent for my birthday last year. I opened it when I was all on my own and the mindees were asleep. The words made me cry!

And THAT is why I couldn't give a stuff whether Ofsted think I'm Satisfactory or Outstanding. My parents love me and that's enough!

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 11/01/2008 20:39

That's not me either! I'm clearly a very difficult woman to buy for! I just don't get why you'd bother to get all relaxed and feeling wonderful and then walk back into Beirut in your house!

lunavix · 11/01/2008 20:45

Hi everyone.. I have had FOUR calls today about minding, FOUR calls, in the space of half an hour... and because my mindee is part time none fit in quite right -sigh-

how's everyone elses day going

ROSEgarden · 11/01/2008 20:46

Lunavix, would it not be worth considering making a change???to acomodate the other three?

lunavix · 11/01/2008 20:54

oh I couldn't have all the others....

I have a mindee, 3 years old, at pre-school a bit, monday to fri 9 -2 ish

one call for for a 7 month old baby 8 - 4.30 mon - weds, plus older sister at the school i do runs for

another was for a 3 year old wed - fri 8 - 5 who goes to same pre-school as mindee (who would realise then who she was dropped for!) plus older sister at the school i do runs for

another was for 4 month old and 2 year old full time, but I only have the one space (taken by part time mindee) until September, so when they said they'd put them into nursery until then, they realised I wasn't in the same town!! They rang ME!!! lol how did they not notice. They're still interested though.

Then there was a 4 month old and a 2 year old mon, tues, fri 9 - 6.

I've got a variation as I had an enquiry, so I can actually have another under 5, but it's named isn't it... and the parent never got back to me yet....

MaureenMLove · 11/01/2008 20:54

Yes, I think I'd look into changing my numbers, Lunavix. Have we spoken before or are you a name changer? You don't need to say who you were, just yes or no will do!

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 11/01/2008 20:57

When you get calls (and this is for everyone) do you actually know immediately whether you can accommodate them or not? I don't, I have to say, can you give me your hours and I'll ring you back, when I know if I can do it or not!

OP posts:
lunavix · 11/01/2008 21:03

nope always me, I float on and off though!

Well I already have the variation but it's named for the child it's requested for so I'm not sure it would be greatly received by Ofsted if I just asked to change names a week later

I won't drop mindee though, I get on brilliantly with her family and she's a lovely child. I couldn't drop her for just a little more money which is what others have told me to do!

No I never know if I can fit someone in - I always have to ring back. It's better that way too because if you realise you've made a mistake or someone you know can do it you then have the number - if you just say no you usually end up kicking yourself a day later!

KatyMac · 11/01/2008 21:07

Come & keep me company over here?

MaureenMLove · 11/01/2008 21:09

Oh go on then. I have no rl, so I might as well have an internet life!

chankins · 11/01/2008 21:10

You are so lucky to be getting so many calls ! There is NOTHING in our area at the mo, and whenever there is a call, pretty much every cm has a space, plus loads of new cms starting up all the time and no bloody work !!!
Sorry, needed a rant about that.
Just finished my mat leave, completely geared up and excited about minding again, and like I say no bloody work !

looneytune · 11/01/2008 22:04

Hi all, just been talking to Shosh about how I didn't like my new name and it didn't feel like 'me' so I'm back to looney, I don't feel like I should hide anymore and what happened was a one off so that's it, I'm sticking with a name I feel happy with

Lunavix - hello mate, how are you? Can't believe you had all those calls, wow!! Do you see S much? If you do, say hi from me

KatyMac · 11/01/2008 22:09

Whenever I see you name I think of that insane laugh on the cartoon

MaureenMLove · 11/01/2008 22:21

Ah, normal service resumed! I feel all warm and snuggly. Although that may be the wine!
