Hi,
Don't even know how to frame this question!! So, here goes:
We live in St Albans, stepson attends Chesham Grammar (which is 15 miles away). Doing school runs for him during rush hours is becoming increasingly unsustainable, so looking for alternative transport options.
Looked into taxi services and looks like this is going to cost something in the order of a couple of thousand pounds per month 😱
Is there a nanny/childminding service that will do something like this at a more reasonable cost?
Feeling totally clueless here.

Don't call the person a nanny. You are looking for a driver, not a nanny or childminder.
Is this his last year or has he got next year there too? When he turns 16 he can get a moped, but I'd be looking to move schools.

Once he's 16 a scooter would be a good option, if he applied in advance he could be riding within days of his birthday

Haha @gogohm I meant this type of scooter, but of course the vehicle is also an option for when older.

Yes, you are probably correct. We do not want someone for childminding but just for the driving to and fro. He is in year 10, so has another year to go at least. If it really becomes impossible, we would look towards moving school of course, just do not want to do it so close to his GCSEs. Also, like everywhere else, places in good schools is like gold dust around here and it won't be easy to get him into another equivalent school.
I will have a look at the option of getting him a moped. Thanks for the suggestion
