Has anyone used 'Sitters' for a hotel babysitter?

I'm looking at a family funeral being pretty imminent. This would be 400 miles away and would require a hotel stay. My children are 4 and 2 and the only family childcare I have will be at the funeral. Is this hotel babysitting thing something that happens? How does it work? Im not rolling in spare cash but I'd pay what I have to to attend this important event. Any experiences please?

I have done this in the past for a couple of hours at a wedding when DC was about four. The first small independent hotel I talked to was shocked at the very suggestion and said they wouldn't contemplate it. The Hilton didn't bag an eyelid. Sitters (I think it was Sitters, it was definitely a big babysitting agency) sent along a nice nursery worker who fancied some extra cash for a couple of hours work reading a bedtime story and sitting in a chair.

I do a lot of babysitting work through Bubble and it's got a much better rep from a childcarer point of view, so you could always have a browse on that? Unlikely I'm in your area but feel free to dm me if you'd like a referral code? I'm not sure how much of a discount you get, £5 off I think?

I’ve used Bubble a couple of times and it’s been fine.

Yes I had Sitters for our wedding. Easy and effective they looked after our baby in the room. Probabaly more options with older children.

What sort of area are you in? I can recommend some companies if it's anywhere near the south west

I’ve done lots of hotel babysits either after a wedding , birthday party or like you a funeral

many hotels have their own list of known babysitters

or google area and find a nanny agency who will be able to find you a qualified nanny

shat area are you and we may be able to recommend an agency or nanny
